The only exclusive that the PS3 has coming out in September is Heavenly Sword and I dought that HS is the game that MS is affraid of. Most likely it's because Bungie is tired of Halo and they want to get the project done ASAP, just like they've said in countless interviews from IGN to EGM.
As for the Halo 3 Beta, it's currently up for download if you've managed to get a Beta code by any means other then Crackdown. Thoes who plan to play via Crackdown are going to have to wait like myself until Bungie can fix the access problem. Well this is a great start, break the game so that you can't get it, lol, hopefully things will be better once we get our hands on the Beta. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Apparently my last post was removed for being too detailed so simply put, thoes PS3 games you mentioned are spread out through the year and release dates can be found on sites like Gamespot if you wish to know when.
As for the Halo 3 Beta there is still no new info on the status since 5AM EST this morning and it seems like we're in this for the long haul. Also for thoes wondering the Beta weighs in at about 911MB. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Well as soon as they fix the Beta I'll be willing to get my butt kicked by anyone.
BETA UPDATE Bungie have finally stepped up and said that the H3 Beta via Crackdown should be fixed between 10PM and 12AM EST Most amazing jew boots |
Finally after a day's wait the Beta is up. The following are my first impressions however so everyone knows this is after 2 VIP, 1 KotH, 1 Slayer matches between 12 - 2AM
Graphics: While they're not what I expect from the 360, they are still quite good and in 1080P still managed to give be some "Awe" to my experiance. Weapons: Almost too many different ones now. While some are interesting in looks or in operation, some are just not needed. The new spike grenades for example could have just been a new feature for the current sticky grenades that now allows them to stick to surfaces also. And why does anyone need to lug around a gatling turret? There's just too much stuff. Weapon balance: This is whacked right out the door. Halo 3 is way more forgiving then 1 or 2 ever were. Small vehicles don't kill you in 1 hit. No single explosive in the game kills you in one hit. And few headshots kill in one hit. If the shot is from the right side or behind the worst it will do is drop their shields. I know this all sounds negative, however that's because the rest is what you expect H3 to be based on 1, 2 and there's no sense in me going over what hasn't changed. If you loved the game before, there's no reason to stop now. Thoes who have found that the Halo series is a bit too whacky and unpredictible to enjoy, not much has changed here. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I liked Halo 1 but was never a fan for 2. However 3 is the first one that I've been excited for before release, and from what I've seen so far, it's for good reason too.
Todate I would have to say that the best review I've seen is GT's. It was informative without getting too in depth or fanboyish. But on top of the new A.I. and good map designs. I like how the art team seems to have actually done something in this game unlike 2 where they just recycled most of 1's designs. I can't wait to drive that motorbike with the blades on it... FUN!!! @Tube I won't know till I've played H3, but Rainbow Six: Vegas had a REALLY good replay value to it's campaign too. How ya doing, buddy? |
I picked up my Legendary Edition last night because I work at a game store, of course I had to work the launch shift. But yeah, so far I've only been playing the single-player and it's definately the best SP of all three Halos IMO. Only thing I have to say about the LEndary Edition is while the content is cool and the helmet looks pretty sweet on display, what's with the game packaging though? It's looks like it's a pirated copy or something. The only thing that has colour is the word Halo 3 and the case itself is a standard black DVD case. WFT?
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
The push to talk feature in all games should just be a feature. Because people can always mute so what's the point in making P2Talk a standard?
@Megalith I'm on chapter 7 and I thingk I've only heard one song that wasn't centered around the Halo theme... bore. Oh well, I suppose one only plays the game once or twice anyway. How ya doing, buddy? |
I beat the game today. H3 Ending >>>>>>>>>>>X1000 Halo2 . Play it, beat it, wait for credits to end. Loved it.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I'm confused. You say, "The sheep mentality of this forum is hilarious. It's practically follow the fuckin' leader around here." So you don't like how people are enjoying the game that you obviously love? Odd, but ok.
And the reason why other gamers don't like the game is because of the senseless killing and the lack of character design in multiplayer, and the random physics. A guy in a 3-ton suit should not be fgloating. And it gets boring shooting the same looking guy 10million times. There's lots of hardcore gamers who like Warcraft, Unreal Tournament, Gears of War, etc that don't like Halo. So it's not the community aspect that non Halo fans don't like. Also yes you can judge the game based on Normal difficulty. Because 99% of newcomers and 60% of previous players are going to play the game on Normal. And most of them will never play the game again. Therefore it's how the game was intended to be played. And if it's too easy or what have you then that's the developer's fault, not the gamer's. I do agree that 4 player co-op is pretty sweet though. How ya doing, buddy? |
"...so it can't really be considered an official component." Actually it can be simply because it's only manipulation of the original code. It doesn't matter what the intentions were. If it's on the disc and you can do it, it counts. I wouldn't have said this before GTA got hit with the "hot coffee" thing, but if it applies in law then it applies to all other aspects of gaming I say.
Also you can't just disregard something because you simply don't like it or agree with it. Just admit that you F'ed up and that Halo became big for it's multiplayer. If you had agreed from the beginning instead of going in circles with this technical crap no one would care and would have moved on by now, lol. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Easiest way to beat a Scarab towards the end there is to get in a hornet. Paralyze the legs, and then shoot the big glowing target on the back end. This blows the whole back of the Scarab off, and you now have a clear sight of the target. After I figured this out it was a breeze.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Most definately. I just wanted people to know the easier way to do it because it would be nearly impossible to do it any other way on Legendary I would think.
But yeah, I only found that out because I like seeing what all can blow apart in a game when I go through it a second time. So I kind of just stumbled upon this. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I'll add you to my list next time I'm on then, because I'm not all that great myself. I played all 3 campaigns, and a bit of 2 online but nothing too intense. So as long as you don't mind I'll add ya and maybe we can get some evenly matched games between us ^^
I was speaking idiomatically. |
I'm looking for a group to do the same thing. Only hitch is that I work 5pm - 9pm today (thursday) so unless we can do it after 9 tonight otherwise I may just have to wait till friday and tackal it with another group.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
You get achievements whether you're online or not. And if you were adding friends, yes you can do that only when you're signed in to LIVE. Therefore if your wern't signed on to LIVE and your profile got screwed for a moment, then yes, you would have lost your progress.
FELIPE NO |
Yeah. Some of the Bungie members said over a year ago in interviews with EGM and what not that if they had their way with the profit money from Halo 3 that they would buy themselves out of MS to allow them to work on different types of games like they did before they were picked up by MS, but I never thought that they would actually do it. When you think of the X-box the first and sometimes only thing that comes to the mind of the general consumer is Master Chief.
It's like Nachoes with no cheese, or hamburger without a bun, you never think it's gonna happen... until it does. Oh well. It's going to be interesting to see if Bungie can still make a non Halo game after ten years. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
This is totally true. However I wouldn't expect more Halo stuff from them too soon. The trilogy just ended, and I'm sure they want to make some new IP to ground themselves in the industry outside of Halo I'm sure.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Sorry man, I didn't mean that. I KNOW that support for Halo 3 will be there. I meant like a Halo 4 or something like that.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
