Just to be sure you didn't install WMP11 AND the Media Sharing utility by any chance did you. From the post it sounds like you didn't, which is a good thing because WMP11 has it built in. On the other hand, if you did install both, remove the Media Sharer because WMP has it built in.

Next make sure that all the files that you want to share with the 360 are selected. To do this go into WMP and click on the library arrow, and then Media Sharing. Then select Customize, then check the boxes for the media types you want and the two parental control settings to allow all media.

If that still doesn't work click the box at the bottom that sais Allow New devices. And also make sure that on the main page of media sharing that the 360 is checkmarked and that the check box saying "share media with these devices" is checked too. If it still doesn't work after all of this then it's a security issue. Try all of that and let me know if you get it working before we go into all that security stuff though.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Next thing I would try is checking your Windows .NET framework. Go to control panel -> add/remove programs -> check "show windows updates"

Now you need to have Windows Framework 1.0, 1.1 & 2.0 if any of these are missing you're going to have to do a windows update in order to get them.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
