I've been liking the game thus far aswell. I'm approx half way according to the strategy guide and though it is a generic JRPG, it's still done well. The voice acting is a bit harsh from time to time but after playing Magna Carta and Tales of Symphonia isn't all that bad either. (and the Japanese VA isn't any better either). The battle system does get the job done, but isn't all that intense. However it is an improvement on the same version of battle system that Rhapsody by NIS had on the PS1. The problem with Rhapsody was that the moves wern't taylored to the battle engine, which this game has definatly solved. Also it's a godsend that you can't hit your own characters (the pet peeve of SRPGs). Overall it's not going to recruit new fans of the genre, but it's a pleasing piece for current fans, but if you have a PS2 I reccomend you picking up Disgaea 2 first though.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
