You must have been pressing awfully darn hard for that to happen. I've had my system for over a week and have yet to have that happen even in the intense heat of battle in Resistance's 20 on 20

Sorry, I don't pay full price for used merchandise.
UPDATE: Bunch of new Ninja Gaiden Sigma Screens http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/856/856529/imgs_1.html Also a release date for Virtua Fighter 5 -> 02/18/07 What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
It's kind of like when they had an easier difficulty in DMC3: SE. It's a shame that (while I know that DMC & NG don't count) so many games are becoming easier now a days, remember the days of Super Ghosts & Goblins, Contra, Gradius, R-Type... thoes were the days where being a gamer took something. Now you just push a couple random buttons and it's "look ma' I beat the game". *argh* That's why I'm a Fighting, Music & RPG gamer mostly since they have the majority of the remaining "hard" games.
However back on topic I never quite beat NG myself either and after this was annoinced last TGS I just put down the controller and said, "screw it I'll wait". And it's interesting how all three of thoes genres have decent representation on PlsyStation systems which has a large Japanese backing who are known for making mostly difficult games. This connection is something that many people don't seem to be able to make when they see that I have all 3 systems and don't know why I like the PlayStation the best. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
God of War almost achieved a similar type of experiance as DMC & NG, if the enemies comboed better and Kratos was a bit more manuverable then it would pratically be in the same league.
God Hand is an awesome game too. Most reviewers knocked it for it's sub par presentation and insane difficulty, but I don't think any game has contained that Fatal Furry/Double Dragon experiance ever since the jump to 3D, till now. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
This is true, Resistance can be a beast of an opponent in the highest settings, and the double amount of enemies makes it a pain too.
I know that many people in here probably haven't played it but Gears of War has the most strategic AI that I've seen to date, and before it FEAR was the best. The only reason why Gear's AI is amazing is because the Locusts work together with decoy & flanking tactics. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
What he means is the same thing that I look for between difficilty settings. While decreasing health, increasing damage & enemy aim accuracy makes it harder, it's not because they're better. It's because the values are different.
What we look for in difficulty settings in incresed AI & more enemies on field while leaving all values the same. That is a TRUE increase in challange in my eyes. It's just that changing the values is 1,000 times easier & quicker for the developer. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Yeah, it just feels like a more intense experiance when difficulty isn't ramped up via stat pumping. Maybe it's the same thing in the end, however if it's the same motions all over again it tends to not be all that inviting to me.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
USB adaptors normally do downstream access where I don't know if it work with the PS3.
The Nintendo USB adaptor though only does upstream which means that it wouldn't work. Not only that, but it also only works with Nintendo products. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
With games like Metal Gear, Tekken 6, Devil May Cry, Virtua Fighter 5 all coming out this year everyone should be picking one up

I don't know about that, Sony's been pretty quick at fixing the major bugs between games, other then the odd small glitch like the one sound effect in DMC3 that eccos, or the small graphics glitch in the first boss battle of FFVII there's nothing so huge where you can't play the game. And considering how many games they have to get to work on the PS3 I find it astounding that they got as many to work as well as they have.
I myself have about 160 PS2 games and 52 PS1 games and I have yet to find an issue that's so annoying that it stops me from being able to play the game. But hey, I know that I don't own nor play every game on the planet so I'm not tryingto speak for anyone else, this is just what I have experianced. P.S. Need... Tekken ...5: DR...... NOW!!!! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
That's cool because you can use that to surf the web on your TV now, and games like Unreal Tournament 2007 will actually have M&K support for gameplay.

I think he's talking about the french, which if is the case I agree with him, however it's been like that since Quebec joined the rest of Canada so I don't think it's going to change anytime soon, lol. Now you know what 90% of Canada feels like whenever they have to look at that hellspawned language, lol.
P.S. If you read the instructions on the box you would have seen that it tells you to use your USB cable that came with your PS3, no biggie, just so you know. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
It's $20 here so myself and three other friends split on it because we're all going to need it at one point or another so it only cost $5 for me ^^
Mwahahahahaha... This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Ummm... it should look at least as good on HDMI as on S-video no problem, if you were currently using component however for your PS2, there will never be any enhancing done with the PS3 to make the PS2 games look better then it would via component PS2.
But hey, when they have to get 3,000 games working on the system to begin with, I think enhancements is a bit much to ask for, or at least for right now. Most amazing jew boots |
Heavenly sword is a concrete date for march, and the Killzone 2 date is a target, not a final.
Forsety: I don't bother with the progressive support hence why I didn't know. Mostly because only like 5 games have it and it's a pain in the ass to engage. How ya doing, buddy? |
Living: Of course it's going to look like shit, 480i is standard def, and you're running it on a plasma which doesn't help anything if you're just running in 480i.
I have my TV and settings at 720p and while I notice some extra jaggieness at times, it's limited to a few games it seems (or at least the major jaggies are) however the games look like shit compared to what's coming out now anyway so I don't really care. Once I beat FFXII and Tekken 5 comes out on the PSNetwork I probably won't be playing many other PS2 games other then Guilty Gear and KOF which I know run perfectly and look fine. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Metal: I actually didn't know that, however more my point is that anything run in 480i looks comparatively bad to higher resolutions with more lines. I didn't mean to say that SD looks bad on plasma, sorry for my misguided wording.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Right, and that's why things like 720p and 1080p matter more with larger displays then smaller ones. When something is larger it of course looks worse then smaller, however when upping the source resolution and that of the TV (ie going from 480i -> 720p) you get more detail sharpness in the same space, while it doesn't put anything there that wasn't already there, it does however make what was already there look better. Hence why something like running 1080p on a 27" display looks pratically the same as 720p on the same display. However if you up the size to something like 62" then there's a noticible difference between resolutions. Not so much in comparitive quality, but in the quality of that same TV's picture. Hope that makes sense.
In short a 720p 27" display's picture quality is quite similar to that of a 62" in 1080p, it's just that now with HD you can make a picture larger without losing picture quality like it always used to be. While 1080p on a 27" display is technically a better picture, the screen is too small to notice that much detail in a small space, which is why 720p almost looks the same in quality. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
That's what I said man, you just said it differently and less complicated. lol At least we're on the same page.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Just run the component cables and don't change anything, that's default 480i, it may not be HD, however it is the best picture you can get on SDTV because the colour seperation and things of that sort are improved well over that of composit.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Is it a wide screen? Cause if so there's many zoom and aspect ratio settings on wide screen TVs that might just need to be played around with a bit. Though Metal would oribable know more then I if that is the case.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Now a days there are about 10 console games per each PC game, and that's not even exclusive PC games which is why I stopped bothering with PC gaming and now just simply buy the 3 major consoles on the market for about the same price a new PC would.
Also if you get the PS3 you can install Linux on it, after which point you can do word processing and whatever else you could do on a new PC, and it'll still be able to play PS3 games. Therefore for the price difference that you pointed out as far as I'm concerned the PC right now is just an over expensive piece of hardware that's been bettered by Sony. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Well I guess if he rather play games that no one's heard of before rather then some of the most anticipated games of the year like MGS4, Tekken 6, MotorStorm then he should go get a PC instead of a PS3+Linux so that he can play Great Invasions and The Shield instead.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Alright, well technically I suppose you're right however I don't know why you pointed it out if it doesn't really matter in the end.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
It does
