The Ninja Gaiden pics just look like pumped up version of NG Black for the XB. But the game has only started development for the PS3 and isn't going to be released until around summer '07 I think I heard in a developer interview at GameTrailers. So there's lots of time to do more. It doesn't look bad, it just looks like a 360 game right now. (Ohhhhh... burn)(probably hear some ranting about that one, ah... it was worth it)
I was speaking idiomatically. |
I don't know how people think that they can predict the future. It all has to do with the titles that come out over the years after launch. The launch of something is only a piece of the puzzle to unlocking success. In my eyes any of the consoles can "lose" at this point... as far as sales goes. If the PS3 has as many good titles as the PS2 it may sell more then the other two, but because Nintendo is making profit right from launch on all Wii products including the system I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii has the most profit earned five years from now. (as long as it has a more consistant release schedule then the GC did which gave up two years ago).
Also while I think the PS3 will most likely overtake the 360, because the Wii is cheap, one of a kind (sorta), and marketed as your secondary system, in theory as long as it connects well with the user base it should have more units sold then either the 360 or the PS3... though not quite Next-gen you can decide later as to what it's actually won five years from now, lol. (Hey you won the console war against no competators... good for you Nintendo) What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Here's an update on PS3/PSP, PS1 backwards compatibility.

Mage... I have no idea what you just said.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
With next-gen graphics comes next-gen pain.
Hey, does anybody have some alcohol?!?! ........ rubbing alcohol??? Also your mentioning of Disney on blu-ray reminded me of the whole Blu-Ray VS HD-DVD thing. (I'm just as surprised as you are that one could forget such a thing.) But really, does anyone think that HD-DVD can beat Blu-Ray? And if they did include an HDMI cable, thoes things are damn expensive even for a 6ft cable therefore making the system more expensive.
I have a question though. They have HDMI to DVI converters right? And would I be able to use my wide screen 19" monitor that I use with my computer for my PS3? Like I said, my monitor has DVI input. Most amazing jew boots |
I know that with standard HDDs that the standard speed is about 7200. However laptop HDDs don't run as fast to cut down on power usage and heat, therefore 5400 is usually the standard in laptops. You can still get 7200 laptop HDDs, but because they're not the standard, they tend to be more expensive.
Also Acer the Wii is doing the same thing, allowing you to use any HDD you please. EDIT: Darn you Metal for posting at the same time as I, lol. But yeah, basically what he said. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Perhaps this was mentioned somewhere else. But allowing you to install the game, wouldn't that make it easier for people to rent it, install it, and then play the game whenever you want afterwards. This ultimatly taking away from game ssales. Or does Sony have a plan in motion like game ID#s to stop this from happening?
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Oh, ok. I know what caching is, it was just when I quickly read over Metal's post it sounded like it was installing the whole game to the HDD. Thanks for correcting me there.

Here's some PS3 gameplay demonstration for a few games done during Gamer's Day.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance:http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...14279&type=wmv Gran Turismo HS: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...14273&type=wmv Call of Duty 3: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...14267&type=wmv EDIT: Links edited so that you don't watch the same thing twice. There's also a Full Auto 2 demonstration at the site too, however I am waiting for the HD video (coming soon) before posting a link. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Not much to add today.
Here's a gameplay demo from Gamer's Day of Full Auto 2 for the PS3. http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...14290&type=wmv FELIPE NO |
Well if you watch the Gran Turismo gameplay demonstration from friday they say in that that the game's character models still have a ways to go before completion. But to me they still look pretty good. Also in a previous interview they pointed out that car lighting and shadowing have yet to be applied to the game also. So it's hard to say how much better GT:HD will look, but it doesn't come out until summer '07 where RR7 is a launch title as you know and therefore is much more complete then GT. But to tell you the honest truth, the GT franchise has always just been a pretty tech demo for the PS consoles to me for I can't really get into sim games of any type. So I'm not too concerned with GT myself. However RR7 will be in my library probably even before I get the console, ^^;
UPDATE: Here's some really sweet Resistance gameplay trailer (in succession). These are HD videos, SD versions can be found at www.gametrailers.com Resistance Gameplay 1: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...14331&type=wmv Resistance Gameplay 2: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...14329&type=wmv Resistance Gameplay 3: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...14327&type=wmv I apologize if someone has already posted there, but... I have the demo of the game for the 360 and it's a LOT like the Sonic adventures, which are the only sonic games I like of the 3D series. The secret for anyone who plays the new Sonic for the 360/PS3 the secret is to always hold the stick forwards and tilt the stick as you go. If you use it normally the control is WAY too touchy.
As for the camera, it isn't great but it gets you by with very few headaches. Also youhave full camera control with the right analog stick. UPDATE: No real surprises here, however it does make for a good source to get all your hardware specs and descriptions on the PS3 from one place. http://www.gamespot.com/features/612...&click=topslot Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It depends on how into gaming the people in your area are and how well known that bit of information is. So unless someone around here lives near ya, only you's know.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Huh??? People are already lineing up at stores around where you live? That seems a bit outrageous to believe.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Well if he wanted to be the first in line then it would probably work. I don't condone it, however that doesn't change the fact that it would probably work, nor does it change that it would make you an asshole as Mucknuggle said.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Simply because he can't get enough of it and he wants to hear it over and over and over and over...... Also because he enjoys Ken's voice so much he wants to share the experiance with everyone else, lol.

Yeah, that commercial was cool in a japanese horror sort of way.
How ya doing, buddy? |
You think that's bad. Anything that costs 59.99 over there costs 69.99 here, and exchange is only like what? .07 - .10 cents on the dollar? I'm not complaining but when I'm getting Gears of War tomorrow for 79.99... man does it hurt.

You can't stand out from the crowd unless you do something different, and as weird as Sony's adds might be, I'll take them any day over Microsoft's bland Jump In adds for the 360, or past PlayStation 1 adds like polygon head or whatever the hell his name was.
Funny part is that everyone blames Sony for doing something different and everyone else blames them if they do something the same as someone else so it doesn't matter what the adds looked like cause there'd still be someone to complain about it. That's just how it is. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Well it looks like the PS3 is off to a good start in Japan. It's seemed to have sold all 88,000 units on day one, which is 3k from what the 360 has sold in Japan to date. It's still too soon to tell how far the PS3 will go in Japan, but with it being the only "next-gen" console of interest in Japan (in the sense of the word), the Japanese don't have much choice.
Now only because I know that someone's going to say something about the Wii this is what I simply have to say in short. I don't think that anyone with any common sense would dare say that the Wii won't sell as well or better then the PS3 at launch, but when you compare hardware, games, and experiences they're two different entities. It's like trying to say that X RPG is better then Y FPS. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Well it's all set. A couple of friends and I are going to go camp in front of WallMart at 6PM Thursday fo a PS3. This is Canada, so Best Buy doesn't have much pull up here, and Futureshop and WallMart are the Titans of software & hardware. I was thinking of camping out at Costco, while almost guarenteed to get one you also have to buy two games of their choice plus who knows what and I just don't have that much money right now.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Hmmm, that makes me wonder. I forgot that Wal-Mart is open 24 hours, so where the hell would one line up? If you wait outside someone might beat you to the electronics section, if you wait inside you might get in trouble for loitering... any ideas?
How ya doing, buddy? |
Then why don't you just ask for like an hour off or something just so that you can pick it up? That way you can have it both ways.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Rock basically said all their needs to be said in the 720P VS 1080i situation.
As for the controller adaptor for PS2/1 <-> PS3 we know it's coming, we just don't know when. It's too bad that ordinary adaptors of this type doesn't work, but that's because the adaptor will need the PS Guide button in order to activate the adaptor or design a workaround for the adaptor, either way we basically have to sit back and wait for Sony to work something out. As for me, I'm still waiting to find a PS3 to actually buy, hopefully it'll be easier then finding a 360 was last holiday season. ^^; I was speaking idiomatically. |
