Looks like Metroid & Mario are being pushed back to Q4 '07. Can't say I'm all that surprised really, as much as it sucks...

It doesn't really matter at this point. If there's currently nothing filling that gap, they definatly won't be able to start & finish any projects before the delayed release dates. So you're stuck with what you were already going to get, just with a couple less AAA titles within the next year. Problem is that Nintendo doesn't have enough 3rd party support to be playing around with such vital things like Metroid & Mario. So while Sony starts to clean up from spring to fall, Microsoft & Nintendo won't be back in the loop till winter '07 (except for Lost Planet, Mass Effect & Bioshock)

While that would probably be nice, it's not very likely at this point. Society is 68%visual based, ask any marketer and they'll tell you the same. Therefore graphics are a huge thing in the promotion of ANYTHING. Also add in the fact that Nintendo has majorly lost the last two console wars, and then the drastic change of the Wii's controls. Not only do 3rd parties have to invest more R&D resources in just figuring out how to use the Wii controls well in games, to make an entire game for the system (that can't be ported) is a huge gamble at this point. Especially if they can just rehash current games and make a quick buck. All in all for some 3rd parties they need Nintendo to survive, for other companies like Square, Namco & Konami it wouldn't really hurt them any if Nintendo does bad, hence the rehashing.
While this state could change over time. It is going to take some serious 3rd party support from a couple companies before the rest take the Wii seriously. UPDATE: That's just great, now Wii Play has been pushed back too. At least it's only to mid January Most amazing jew boots |
That's a pretty sweet mod they did. If it had a larger monitor and made it look a little better (ex. full face cover) then I'd probably try and get it.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
