It's been proven as a myth in multiple forum boards and rumour-busters like Kotaku that it's jsut a bunch of tards who left the discs in the sun and the dust caked onto the disc. There's no conspiracey, it's just idiacy.

Man Sony's E3 coverage on PSN is killer. Screw being at E3 and playing some betas that don't even represent the final games, when I can get everything I want in my livingroom.

Put's MS's E3 coverage to shame.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Even if it is, nothing can be certain as to what is going to be in the final build and what isn't. So just enjoy the good features of the trailer, and wait for a final build before taking anything for what it is.

All it has to be is the game that makes the largest impact at the event. There's no other rules other then that.

So am I getting this right. That Epic said that Unreal Tournament 3 will be on PS3 and PC but NOT 360? That's what IGN has up on their news.

UPDATE
Killzone 2 gameplay video: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/21600.html *Audio is messed, but itès still interesting.

Man, I have NEVER seen a game that looked this good. MGS4 may look better in some areas, but KZ2 is only in ALPHA, not even close to BETA. They took that CG trailer, and beat it to fuck with a dead 360.

EPIC UPDATE
Alright here we go, straight from the EPIC mouth.

"At their E3 2007 press conference today, Sony confirmed that Epic's Unreal Tournament 3 will be a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 3, coming out this year only for the Sony console -- guess they didn't have to buy it. Also confirmed (and very exciting) is the ability to share mods between the PS3 and PC versions. When the PC version comes out next year, at least."

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Actually it won't have 360 VS PC play because EPIC is NOT in support of Microsoft's Iron Grip within the Games for Windows LIVE service because the service does NOT allow modifications or mutators which makes up 80% of the UT community. Also can't forget all the schools that use the UT tools for teaching/learning tools. Which has made EPIC pissed at MS for the time being.

Also I'm sure they're trying to figure out how to get the 30Gig game on a DVD to play on the 360.

As for the Killzone 2 "wow" factor. It managed to stay with me throughout the majority of the video. The smoke from the rocket looked awesome to me. Also the rifle and the iron-sight alone looked amazing with the depth of field and all. Also nice to see the addition of gore effects, which looked killer.

Only things that need work are the fire and some smaller effects. However this is the best Alpha build of a game that I have ever seen. Like for a BETA it would still be very good, but for an ALPHA, shit... it's still has a long ways to go, therefore it will look noticeble beter even by BETA.

P.S.
SH5 = can't be worse then 4, and hopefully better then 3.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

“Taking all of these things that everybody has come to expect for free and now yanking them back and trying to sell them isn’t going to fly with the Windows platform—not with Epic and not with the big publishers," -Mark Rein

Sure as hell doesn't sound like they're happy with the service either.

However all of this is beside the point that EPIC is NOT using the PC LIVE service and that PC & 360 players will not be able to play against one another. This is all I was really trying to get accross in the beginning. (however I am aware that I did get a bit sidetracked after the fact)

There's nowhere I can't reach.

We'll see, but EPIC wouldn't give up their reputaion and what sells the game, which is the community content. And by going with Windows LIVE they'd be doing just that.

Secondly they're not supporting Windows LIVE with Gears of War and seeing how the game and the UE3 each are setup for LIVE archetecture and Windows LIVE back end it would have been simple to have included the support seeing how everything was right there. Also no one expected Gears for the PC to have a huge modding support however EPIC chose not to go that route. Though you could also argue that they didn't have PC vs 360 support in the game, I don't think that it would have been much that a patch couldn't have fixed, but I don't know UE3 enough to say anything concrete.

As for the VF5 thing, I dought I would have based whether VF5 would have online or not based off my knoledge of the industry rather then the fact that online fighters don't work well, and the fact that VF5 is very timing based and not combo that lag would affect it more then something like DOA4.

However I would have said right after when they announced that they were basing the 360 version off of VF5 Version C with 360 exclusive hoar clothing for female characters that they were tailoring the game to sell in the NA market and NOT to be a solid fighting game overall and therefore would have had a higher possibility of online play.

However when I made the comment you are reffering to this was not the case and AM2 had only said that they were porting the PS3 game to the 360 and nothing more, therefore implying that they were sticking to their age old customs, which did not turn out to be the case.

How ya doing, buddy?

But the thing is that RPGs arn't as huge here as they are in Japan. So more people here may play games in general, but way more in Japan play RPGs which is why they do look at what's hot in Japan for their sense of direction.

Same thing they did for the Warhawk BETA. The BETA which I got invited like 5 days before the open BETA, better then nothing but C'MON.....

UPDATE
Looks like Sony's E3 showing was the warmup round. Sony apparently is going to make a series of huge announcements for PS3 and PSP at Leipzig next month. Most will probably be new functionalities and future plans, and perhaps a few more first-party games previously unannounced, possibly some new 3rd party content.

New functionalities coming out this year are free-view-TV, and Video On Demand. Thank god the PS3 has swap in - swap out HDD support.

Yeah I'm tired of my black HDTV screen, I need to get a burnt im image of my PS3 wallpaper in that baby ASAP! lol

(yes I have the screen saver turned on, just wanted a better way to support this feature then some lame one liner like, "I agree")

The music player IN GAME, file organizer, and wallpaper are definately the big 3 things that they need to get out the door now before their focus becomes HOME, because thoes are the things we've been beating our heads against the wall for since the fixed the PS2 jaggies and upscaling.

UPDATE
It looks as though the firmware V1.9 has already hit japan. The update includes;

• Ability to rearrange games on the XMB
• Option menu now includes "eject disk"
• Press triangle to eject games/CDs/movies in the XMB
• XMB backgrounds
• Change the folder classification
• Emoticons
• Change CD output to 44.1/88.2/176.4kHz
• Force 24Hz output for Blu-ray over HDMI
• Change PS3 video settings in-game
• "Bit Mapping" in the "Music Setting"
• Save AVCHD type animations from a Memory Stick
• Change settings like upscaling while playing PS and PS2 games
• Add bookmarks
• Web browser security function in the browser's tool section
• Avatar moves during audio visual chat

No music player though, damn...

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well like I said. The E3 '07 demo had the first three chapters of the game in it, along with improved code.

E3 '07 demo gameplay -> http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/700/7...d_2057667.html

IGN's game impressions -> http://ps3.ign.com/articles/804/804704p1.html

"Thank the maker, there's more to Heavenly Sword than just arena battles! As most of you probably remember, our biggest concern for the game was that it was made up of segmented fighting sequences and nothing else."

GameSpot E3 '07 -> http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/h...ml?sid=6174797

"Heavenly Sword is on display and playable at E3 2007, and we checked out the demo and came away very impressed."

" Luckily for us, Sony says we'll be getting a demo version containing all of the game's second chapter a couple of weeks after E3..."

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well the PS3's HDMI has HDCP copy protection in it, so if you get a monitor, make sure it has HDCP support, otherwise you'll only get a black screen when you set it all up.

A monitor with HDCP, not HDMI.

Doesn't matter if the monitor has HDMI or just DVI wither way it NEEDS the -> HDCP <- copy protection support.

Ummmm... you do know that there are three stances right Megalith? Also between thoes stances you can do parry and counter moves, who the hell needs block.

P.S.
Devil May Cry doesn't have a block either. Which therefore makes HS more like a DMC game then a GoW game. It doesn't simply make it bad. (However I do have yet to play the demo) Lastly this is the Gamer's Day demo, NOT the E3 '07 demo, therefore if you read a lot of game site's opinions on the two, you'll see that they all agree that the E3 '07 demo was WAY better, and definately a LOT more completed

I'll agree that it wasn't the best demo that they could've released since it from a LOOOONG time ago. Actually I believe that it was the first playable demo of the game for the press, but I could be wrong. Point is that the demo is like a 60 - 70% completed build of the game and therefore you shouldn't take too much of it other then the concept of the game from the demo.

That said, this demo should have been the E3 '07 build or nothing to avoid reactions like Megalith's and Iwata's. Meh, guess time will tell the true damage or gain this demo has caused when the game comes out.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't have anything else to base this off other then that the performance of the HS demo sounds more like what has been described in previews of the Gamer's Day demo, and noth the latest build. Things like frame rates (this demo was definately around the 30fps and not 60) and some other smaller glitches all connect with that of the Gamer's Day version.

I'll give you that they most definately localized the demo a lot more to make it multi region friendly, but that doesn't mean that it's a newer build of the game of it's own, it just means that they were actually doing something during all that time of waiting.

"According to Sony, the demo is the same as that shown during Sony's Gamer Day earlier this year." -IGN

Also in this week's Beyond IGN podcast, the crew say that the Gamer's Day demo is no where near as good as the E3 '07 demo. If you want to hear more on it, check out the podcast.

P.S.
More on framerate. This is usually the last thing they fix in games for any added or removed content changes the performance. And I'm not just making this up. You can check dev notes for 70% of games and they'll same the same thing. Especially Capcom games, which is why they hardly ever do demos.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

If I had to guess the E3 demo was most likely their latest build with the entire beta game on it with only the first 2 or 3 levels unlocked and not an actual demo. Therefore since the Gamer's Day demo was already standalone code, instead of taking people off the actual game to make a newer demo they took the demo they already had, put three or so people on it to make the menues all nice and shinny and then they threw it out the door.

From a development standpoint it makes perfect sencse. From a PR side of things it's a disaster.

What are you talking about. Unless you hacked the unix OS, installed fraps on your PS3, and are a mastermind to engage it in the demo, I would say that my eye at gauging the FPSs is pretty accurate to previewers of the Gamer's Day build.

Secondly in response to, "It is no excuse for the Dev company to release an inferior demo from so many months ago, when the game is dropping in a month and a half..." reffer to my last post. I'm not going to repeat myself because you've decided to come late to the game. (Though you've obviously skimmed over things to get a just of what's going on)

Lastly I can't disprove whether you have a friend who's played the E3 demo or not. However that does not matter for like I said earlier. The VAST majority of games don't deals with FPSs until the near end of development. Therefore even the E3 build is HIGHLY subjecy yo change in performance before release.

To prove my point look at Dead Rising at the E3 before release and then release. Pratically every reviewer compained about the HUGE frame drop. However at retail release, this issue pretty much never came up.

Meh, there's a lot of average rated games that I find MUCH better then high rated ones.

Ex. I love GodHand witch has a 7.0 rating average. Also I dispise Halo witch has like a 9.(something). I'm pretty sure if you guys thought back you probably have similer experiances.

Secondly I never did like ratings. They're just too... inaccurate. When someone is forced to play a game that they don't really want to I'm sure it's not going to affect their score *sarcasim*.

Therefore I've always looked at ratings more as odds as to whether someone will like a game or not. So instead of looking at it as how good it is, which doesn't make sense because you either like it or not. I look at a game like lair that based on EGM I have a 55% chance of liking the game. I find this to be a much better way at looking at reviews.

Anyhow, sorry for my little rant there. Hopefully it contributes something to this, and maybe lets a couple people look at reviews in another way. But that's pretty much what I think of them anyways. Other then that I simply dislike reviews and in some cases reviewers but that's a whole nother topic.

So yeah, wait for more reviews before making a decision on Lair. You know that GodHand game I like? Well if I had based getting it or not on IGN's 3.0 rating, I would have missed out on a lot.

P.S.
Funny (untrue) theory. Perhaps EGM are people who dislike dragons. Therefore the more dragons a game has the lower the score, lol. ^^

I was speaking idiomatically.
