The petition is really stupid and poorly thought out and put together.
I feel a bit of shock of such an announcement, but I don't really care. The only thing that should matter to people if they have a 360 is that they're getting a great game coming to their system even if DMC4 does come out around the same time as Halo 3 and most 360 owners won't notice the game and still miss out on it. And PS3 owners shouldn't even care. Perhaps at launch if the 360 version falls into the port nich'e a bit of supremecy of having the source copy, but really shut up... they're just acting like a bunch of rampent fanboys. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Yeah, guess that means that they're going to have to miss out on;
-Assasin's Creed -DMC4 -Oblivion -All Tom Clancey games -Unreal Tournament 2007 etc... Hahaha... dumb bastards I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Do you play it on a PC? I have a 2.6GHz, ATI 9800Pro, 2GB DDR RAM, and a Soundblaster Audigy 2 (something, something) and I can't even get it to look as good as the 360 version, nevermind the PS3 one and STILL have it running good. Most people have around the same specs as what I have it seems hence why so many people have a console version whether it be 360 or PS3. Also maybe a lot more people do play Oblivion on the PC then on a console, I don't know.

That's right. There's supposed to be a Time Trial mode + another(maybe) as well as new tracks. How many remain unknown.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Same here but the BC of the PS3 really isn't all that bad. Unless your're playing it on a 60" HDTV right next to a PS2 playing the same game on a SDTV, you can't really notice the difference. Even IGN did a comparison with like FFXII and GoW2 and said that the games (especially PS1 games) are going to basically look like shit on an HDTV anyway, so the difference between the PS3 and a PS2 playing the same game really isn't all that different on an SDTV. I've been playing all my games except GH2 on my PS3 simply because stuff loads a good amount faster and the graphical issues of GoW2 are greatly reduced over that of the PS2. It's really not that bad on the PS3 now, unless you have the Euro model that is of course.

All PS3s have the ability to be region free for that's a feature of Blu-Ray, not the system. The only thing is that it's up to developers to make that choice, and none have yet.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
The front page is just for new additions to the PSN. For the full catelog of downloads you have to select the View All tab, and then select the appropriate section that the content should be filed in and you should find it there.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Supposedly Sony showed a 60% done version of Killzone 2 at GDC, but with no press at thoes speeches, there's no footage. Hopefully with such a close target date, there'll be an appearance at E3 this year.

The new PS3 update also enables dualshock controller use for PS2 and PS1 games via USB with NEW rumble support.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Sony and Immersion are currently working on a controller that will have rumble for the PS3. As to design, price, or release date, nothing is known at the moment. With a recent interview with Hideo Kojima and GameTrailers, Kojima said that he would like to include rumble in MGS4 is the controller is out in time. And Cory Barlog said that GoW3 will have rumble support so I would say that there probably won't be a new rumble controller before mid '08. But that's just a guesstimate.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
The steering wheel thing is for the new version of GT HD only.
The PS2 thing is if you have a PS1/2 -> USB asaptor and a PS1/2 controller and play a PS1/2 game on your PS3, there is now rumble support for the controller. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Yeah that's right. As long as you don't need the motion sensor it will work. However using a PS1/2 controller on a PS3 game does not add rumble if that's what you were hoping for.

Same here, I don't know what their deal is or why the PS3 didn't have that ability to begin with.
The PSP didn't get wallpaper support until 2.0 so hopefully the PS3 will revieve custom wallpaper by that update or sooner because this current animation sucks. Especially since mine has stopped changing color over the day, it's just some pukey greenish pink clear thing, go away, go AWAY!!! Double Post My BlockBuster in town here just started stocking Blu-Ray movies for rent. I'm gonna rent every decent movie there to support this effort. Tonight is Crank. FELIPE NO |
No biggie, just wanted to throw out there that if anyone was planning on getting Saint's Row for the PS3 this summer that the game's been cancelled.
On a high note Odin Sphere comes out in two weeks, so all is good. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned anything from Sony's Gamer's Day or the Square Enix Perty yet. I know a lot of stuff was just expansion on already announced games but still, has no one got SOMETHING exciting to discuss?
Well with about 25 PS3 exclusive games and 15 non-exclusive games at the event I would have to say that the four strongest titles for the PS3 would have to be; Lair, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet 5 and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. And the biggest surprise would have to be Uncharted because even though some of the others may be bigger titles, this is the first we've seen of Uncharted that wasn't a screen. Also with gameplay mechanics from PoP and Gears of War, this game should be killer. Most amazing jew boots |
Hmmm... that does suck. I'm not trying to justify anything however if I told you about all the RPG corruptions that used to happen to me in the PS1 days, well let's just say I saved on 2 memory cards each time I saved RPG progress. That in hand with all my X-box 360 corruptions and PS2 memory cards corrupting on my PS2 hardware. Point is that shit happens, and while it does suck big time, you can't really say that a whole console sucks due to one isolated accident. Once again in light of your situation I'd be pretty pissed too rational or not for I've played & beaten Nocturne myself.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I'm just saying that if someone doesn't back things up then it's hard for me to feel bad for them. Sure it sucks when you loose data, but you should always have a back-up plan. To expect things to work all the time is simply unrealistic.
As for RPG saves beeing an issue, this is news to me. I've never heard anything that's ever been thought to have to do with one another and the fact that there could be a higher failure rate due to emulation should also be expected too for it's never possible to have 100% emulation. Once again, I'm not trying to justify anything here for I don't work for Sony and could care less about their reputation, I'm just saying that these things arn't that uncommon no matter the console or technology. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
For me my PS3 will be burning hot with;
The Darkness Ninja Gaiden Ssigma LAIR Stranglehold And if that wasn't bad enought there's also Odin Sphere coming out tomorrow. And another 3 - 5 games for the 360 coming out later this summer. My God, need.. more... TIME!! I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Well I haven't gotten anything yet either. If I don't get into this one after also not getting into the HOME one then I'll be mad. And they won't like me mad. I make this StarCraft guy here look like a Barbie doll... yeah.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
LOL, what made you voice your opinion here when half of the video game board is discussing games that arn't out yet. Also if you think that me making a hollow threat of a joke is bad, you should have seen the Halo 3 nerd massacre when their Beta was only delayed for 17hours. Let's just say that it blemished the term "nerd" for a good while. In the end though I managed to make someone else aggravated out of my own aggravation so life is good. Back to cleaning the car.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Sony said in a recent release that they're thinking of bringing it stateside. If they do they'll probably just put 80Gb HDDs in the 60GB models instead of going back to 2 SKUs. And no, you won't see a price cut because of this.
As for the new update. When it said that it upscales PS1 & 2 games to 1080p, does that mean that they're in native 16:9, or do I still have to play the games in 4:3? FELIPE NO |
This update was almost pointless. The PS1 games did need the upscaling to make them look decent on newer TVs. However as far as the PS2 games go, most TVs already have screen ratio and zooming abilities, so the stretch feature isn't even needed, and the 1080p stuff hasn't been much of an improvement. I would have been way more excited if they had added 16:9 formatting.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I never said that there was No improvement, I just said that there wasn't anything that huge for all the hype this was getting before release. Sure the 1080 image looks great, but when you're sitting 5 feet or more from the screen, it's not that huge seeing how PS2 games will never look all that great compared to current games anyway. I'm just saying that I would have rather had the 16:9 rendering more then the 1080p capability. I'm not saying that my opinion is in everyone's best interest, cause it's not. It's simply what I would've wanted.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Hmmm... I thought as much. The reason why I thought it could be done thouh is because all the supported X-box1 games are upscaled and formatted to 16:9 on the X360. However while just going through my games I remembered that there were games that didn't have 720P support (Phantom Dust) and when I put it in the X360 it came up in 1080 but in 4:3. So I kind of stumbled upon this before your last post there. However someone else out there may have been wondering the same thing that I was earlier, so at the least we have this documented now.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
That's basically what I said in my last post there. Games that already supported 16:9 played in that ratio where games that did not (which wern't many, like Phantom Dust) only play in 4:3 even on the 360.
