Magnetic Fields go far beyond the reach. There's nothing you can do - I've used older 15" CRTs that when Degaussed would shake the screens of monitors 6 feet away. I don't think it's terribly detrimental. The 15"ers I mentioned earlier were all in a computer lab and most of them were still going after 7 years.
