I don't think I could ever switch off Gmail after using it for about a year now. The service is absoutely perfect, nothing too frilly, light on the advertising, lots of space, fast, and filters out spam quite effectively, as you might expect from Google.
While it does POP, I don't even know why anyone would use it. I did for a while, but their interface is so effective now that I can't find a more worthwhile mail program to use instead. Jam it back in, in the dark.
