Yeah yeah, wah wah. Battle Revolution is important (or at least convenient) for the items and pokemon you can buy/obtain-- nice and easy Electivire, Magmortar, and Surf'ing Pikachu, as well as Reaper Cloths, stones, TMs, etcetera. And this might be a lame reason to buy the game, but I like being able to customize my trainer and what he says when beginning a fight, switching out pokemon, or whatever else.
So, is anyone else thinking about getting it? I'm tired of just sending Miis around to my friends. EDIT: Also, some of Azingno's information is incorrect. Character customization, for example, gives six base models to choose from: Boy, similar to Red and whatever D/P's male hero's name is Teenager (male), like ace trainers Buff Adult, like... the buff dudes from Colosseum or Gale of Darkness. Girl, like campers and scouts Teenager (female), like ace trainers Mature Adult, which is like Cynthia Strangely, I think the female heroes like May or Dawn fall more into the Teenager catagory rather than the child group (like the male heroes). Beyond that, you can change hair style/color, shirts, pants/skirts, (sun)glasses, pins, packs, gloves, shoes, hats, and I think one or two other things. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yes, the commentator is back in full force with play-by-play analysis that's vague as hell. Some YouTube video with a Nintendo rep I watched said it's the same guy who does the announcing in the anime, so... I guess that's good if you're into that sort of thing. I hope it can be turned off, canonical accuracy be damned.
I know Nintendo used to have Gym Leaders back in the day with the card game (I know this because a friend at the time always carried around the badges he won), but I'm not sure if they do that anymore. Doubtful they'd start it with this, though. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well, that's what I figured. I didn't think you were intentionally trying to mislead people or anything.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Not that's been announced. I guess it could happen though-- Surfing Pikachu was originally the only pokemon the game gave you, but now there's Electivire and Magmortar to get.

It's a pretty sweet Pikachu-- if it's got a decent enough nature, if could be the most viable one you can train for competing. I think that's what the Japanese version had too, though.
How ya doing, buddy?

Been playing it since Tuesday. I'm relatively content with the purchase, but I can think of things I had been happier shelling out 50 bucks for. I thought about this for a while, and came to this conclusion:
Buy if... -You're hugely into battling, and know that most online people are hardcore and will whoop ass if you aren't also. -You want to get the absolute most out of the franchise (be it by collecting all the extra DS goodies from Battle Revolution or vice-versa) Don't buy if... -You don't have everything necessary (DS, Wii, wireless internet that is compatible) -You're only a casual player of the DS games -You want more than online battling or a fluff single-player mode If anyone on the fence follows those guidelines, they should be content with whatever they choose to do. As for the game, I'm very relieved that you the player are actually a team manager, as opposed to being the trainer. That means all points and purchased goodies aren't tied into one specific trainer, and you can make a new team and still keep all the points and unlocked apparel. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Well, how else would you not play random people?
And we're talking about Wii Friend Codes here. DS Friend Codes are only relevant to DS Wi-Fi battles. EDIT: Now that I think about it, don't even consider thinking about buying this game. It's just not playable if you're only using rental pokemon. FELIPE NO

I like the random battles, you're given a pool of about 20 random pokemon and both sides choose four from that pool. You're both stuck with the same (oftentimes shitty) pokemon, so you have to strategize correctly and anticipate what pokemon your opponent will select in the beginning.
Beats the hell out of getting stuck with a Charmeleon holding an Oran Berry while your opponent gets your Marowak holding Thick Club with Bonemerang and Earthquake. I so hate that roulette table. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Looked around at the online battling thing. Accidentally started a match when I was looking at the lobby, haha.
I also put my Friend Code in GFWiki, so yeah. Tell me if you add it and I'll do the same for you. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Has anyone done the park colosseum the second time around? The one with the level 5, unevolved pokemon.
I have to breed some guys to even qualify, but it seems to mainly be about egg moves. I wonder how Wynaut would do. Most amazing jew boots |
