I'd like to compete, but I'm just not that far into the game. Haven't attempted Byron's gym, and I don't plan to until I get my perfect Marowak and Zangoose. That's proving to be extremely difficult. Anyway, if you guys put together like a newb/low-level tournament, I'm game.

Fortunately, I replenished my Manaphy supply. Granted, they didn't come nearly as cheaply as the first two (this took a Darkrai and Shaymin, as opposed to a Mothim and a fucking Golbat), but it's good to have 'em back.

EDIT: Traded away a hacked shiny Arceus for Latias and Latios. I think two legit good legendaries are worth what is more or less a fake shiny.

Finally came across my first shiny today while training on Iron Island. Shiny Steelix is a nice gold color, so hopefully that makes it move valuable than others (coloring is why shiny Charmanders are more valuable than most other shiny pokemon).

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Wow, almost fell onto page 2.

Caught Dialga the other day. That battle and the ones leading up to it made for a surprisingly dramatic scene.

Spoiler:
Cyrus wanting to become God shocked me. Yeah, it's a common theme in normal RPGs, but not Pokemon!

Now I'm working on capturing the Psychic Trio.

I was speaking idiomatically.

There seems to be a bit of a water theme going there, but even if you count Pikachu for having Surf, what the hell is Chatot doing in there?

I found out that you can get the National dex before beating the the Elite 4, which is kind of interesting. Some things are triggered by it (like the Eevee Bebe gives you), but other things like Swarms and new Safari guys aren't available yet. Still, kind of cool.

I've overhauled my team since I didn't like my dependency on my #1-3 guys-- it only caused me a headache in my trial run through the Elite 4. I spent too much time flip-flopping between my choices for #4-6, so even the main guys were a bit low in level (64). I think my main problem was Lanturn. I love that guy's typing, but his Special Attack just wasn't good enough. So, here's the party I'm working on right now:

Marowak
Gallade
Lapras
Ampharos
Houndoom
Skarmory

Skarmory's sort of an odd choice considering most of the others are Underused, but I wanted a Steel type/tank and still needed a Flying pokemon (my other choice, Xatu, felt a bit redundant with Gallade and Psycho Cut). I'll probably come up with a backup in case of a UU Battle. Maybe Forretress or something.

Anyway, I'm feeling pretty good about that lineup, even if Houndoom seems iffy to me. Should be more than enough for the Elite 4, at least.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Finally went and beat the Elite 4 the other day, clocked in at 217 hours (260 pokemon caught, 280 seen). Just too annoying to level in Victory Road, and I also wanted to get to Route 225 and nab Banette for my team and breed Will-o-Wisp onto a Ralts.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'm running out of things to do in the main game, so I've been preparing to start EV training. Got the macho brace, been researching the best places for what stats you want to train, and finishing up the legendaries (so I don't have a distraction). Still need Mew, Entei, Raikou, and Rayquaza.

Which reminds me, if anyone wants to trade a level 100 Deoxys for a Mew, I'm down with that. As for battling, I'll take you guys on when I'm done EV training.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

That would be really, really awesome. What would you be looking for?

I also just finished EV training my first pokemon-- my shiny Furret, to be exact. The stat up items are a lifesaver with their being an easy 100 EVs, but the whole process is ridiculously slow if you don't have both Pokerus and one of those EV boosting items. Now I'm going to get serious and train my Skarmory. No one here milks IVs, right?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah, Sitrus is no problem. I can do two or three, if you want! You still need any pokemon? I have quite a few now, so.

Still EV training, so I'm not quite ready to battle. I'm working on breeding a new Larvitar for using the "Dragon Dance sweep" strategy, but first I need to get a female Totodile to breed with my Gyarados and then finally pass it on to Larvitar. I also figure I'd put Ice Punch on Totodile too, so I may just put Feraligatr on my team in that case (the addition of Dragon Dance to his move pool is huge).

Chaotic, I have every legendary except Raikou, Entei, and Rayquaza (Celebi was a pain to get, but I was able to nab a 10ANIV one). The only extra I have (if that's what you mean by random) is a Giratina, as I still haven't captured my own game's.

Well, I guess I don't really want anything else in particular... I guess just to toss up another random category, got any shinies?
I have a shiny Furret and a shiny Torkoal, but there's no way I could give them up (they're my favorite pokemon, along with the Furret being Adamant and EV trained).

However, I acquired a new Deoxys (looks pretty legit and is untouched) and cloned a Dubious Disc the other day. If either of those interest you.

Well, I just got a Mew right now for pretty cheap. The problem is that it's a cheesy little Mew with a nickname and used in battle and stuff. Is your Mew un-nicknamed and untouched? I already have my own untouched Deoxys, so another isn't doing me any good.

Also, if you're feeling guilty about it, you could see if you have a spare TM I need and tack it on to the Mew.

Odds are you'll be competing against a couple of ten-year-olds. Apparently no pokemon are banned, so just bring your legendaries and a Wobbuffet.

I don't think I'm hardcore enough to show up in a public place to battle, so I may just roll up later on for "unrelated" reasons and check out what the special gift is.

Oh, hell yes. I just caught a shiny Giratina. I spent an hour or two yesterday seeing if he wouldn't just show up for me, but with no luck on it I spent an hour today trying to find a normal one with a Calm nature. I was only going to attempt it two or three more times when the shiny showed up, so I quickly threw a Master Ball. It's Rash, which isn't particularly good for Giratina, but it could be worse (Naughty or Lonely). Very pleased!

And sorry Chaotic, I meant to ask about your offer. Did you want the Deoxys for the six TMs, and then I'd trade something else for the Mew? Or are you including the Mew, and I'd be including a few Sitrus berries?

Well, it's only the third shiny I've ever encountered. First was the red Gyrarados in Gold (which doesn't count), the Steelix on Iron Island a month or so back, and then the Giratina today. They need to double or even quadruple the encounter rate of shinies.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I caught a golden geodude...im sure that pales in comparison to the ones you have but yeah
A shiny Geodude isn't actually that bad because of it's golden color. Just don't evolve it, since then that's gone.

Was the consolation prize/gift a bookmark, like everyone was saying? And I'm down for a tournament. I suck since I have no core strategy, but we'll see how things go.

Right now I need to find either a Dragonite with Dragon Dance and Ice Punch from Emerald or a Feraligatr with Ice Punch and Dragon Dance already. Found out I can't get both moves on a Totodile without Emerald.

I would prefer singles. The only experience I have with doubles is in PBR, and that's hardly good practice.

You could just ask one of us to battle if you need any practice... Besides Crisis on PBR, I haven't faced anyone here at all.
That's true, but I also know doubles requires a different strategy-- partnering up the proper pokemon, the addition of damage-blocking moves, etcetera. I'm still trying to EV train my singles team.

How ya doing, buddy?
