Bweeheehee. I still have both of my COMPLETE editions for SSS and EB, but alas I do not have the original Sega games. Such is life, I suppose.
Anyway I've played through both games 2 or more times each. I tend to play them during droughts of game releases, but it looks like I won't be playing them again for a good while, at least according to my pre-order list. Jam it back in, in the dark. I'm inclined to agree with Gechmir. I've hardly heard of anyone displeased with the two Lunar games (not including Lunar DS or Magic School Lunar OR the GBA re-release of Lunar 1) on either their original Sega platform or on the PSone.
Sure, it's a pretty traditional game with a pretty traditional storyline, but it's presentation is done so well it's hard to imagine the games being conceived of as "bad." But I suppose if someone doesn't like them, it's their choice. Personally, I'm a bigger fan of Lunar: EB than I was of SSS. EB's main storyline was still focused around the hero and his relationship with her, and had the game ended with that then I would've liked SSS more. However, it was EB's Epilogue quest that makes me put it above it's predecessor. Going back and recruiting all of your party members (and thereby learning more about them and their pasts) for one final push toward a different goal gave me a much deeper sense for the characters. If SSS lacked one thing, it was the solid development of the other characters. Nash, Mia, Jessica, Alex, Kyle, even Luna -- to a point, they were defined not as individuals but by their relationships. It became Jessica & Kyle, Nash & Mia. Alex and Luna were the only characters to get any solid individual development. Oh well, I've gone on way longer than I wanted to. There's nowhere I can't reach. Wait what? What happened between you and Vic?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
