It truly depends on the series. I think something like Kenshin should've be shrunk down to 52~ episodes instead of the 90-something it was with nearly half-filler.
King of Bandit Jing was really short -- less than 20 episodes. I would've liked to see more, but the way the series was structured it would've need to have more story written. Basically it needed a true beginning and a true ending. On the other hand, Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu was fantastic for it's length. Maybe a bit too detracting from the original to be longer in episode count, but still for 17 episodes it was pretty damn good. Noir could've been quite a bit shorter. They spent 18 or so episodes not even bothering to discuss the main plot. Whole series could've been summed up in 10 episodes I'd say. Jam it back in, in the dark. Reading -- Bleach, Claymore, Chun Rhang Yhur Jhun, NOW, Zero: Beginning of the Coffin, Black God, Twelve Kingdoms (novels), History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi Watching -- Bleach Playing -- Fable II, Valkyria Chronicles, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Star Ocean: First Departure, LittleBigPlanet, MegaMan 9, Mirror's Edge |
