I couldn't manage my money when I was in college. Unfortunately that would've been the best time for me to learn, but I had money that kept coming in from different directions.

My step-dad was retired military, so of course he got a big staple every month. Also, since he was practically decrepit, he also received a Social Security check which was large because of his military service, or something to that effect. Anyway, my mom, on top of paying for tuition and books every semester, also sent me a stipend every month whether I was employed or not. And my dad had to continue paying child support until I was 22; I was 19 when I entered college.

So had I managed to keep a steady job throughout college, I could've saved up a ton of money. Not only that, but I was also receiving scholarship money and my grandmother, who had inherited upwards of $400k from her late father, was a generous old lady who gave her grandkids $10k each. Really should've saved that, but instead I blew it all on worthless junk. Go me.

Not to even mention that somehow, through all of it, I managed to overdraw thrice in my college years. Now, since then I've learned from my mistakes, repeated though they may have been, and manage my money quite well now. Fortunately I already had a full-time job with GameStop at that point so I came out of school pretty well.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
