Gaming Outside your Comfort Zone
No, the thread's not about playing a game anywhere but in your living room or bedroom.
Okay so, working in a video game store I see what the customers are buying, obviously. A lot of them buy the same type of game every single visit, for example there's a customer of mine who pre-orders every sports game coming out soon and never anything else -- I've never seen him buy any action, RPG, puzzle, FPS, etc. game since I've known him. That being said, there are a lot of people who label themselves "RPG gamers" or "sports gamers" or what have you, but occassionally I will see people buy a game completely outside their comfort zone. I for one enjoy mostly, but not limited to, RPGs, though ocassionally I'll get a craving for a sports title and pick one up, or play NFL 2K5. RPGs are what I mainly play, but sometimes I'll slip away and play some football. Discuss. What are your scape goat games, if you have any, and what's the genre you're escaping from? Jam it back in, in the dark.
