Speaking of Soul Edge, Soul Calibur 3 is pretty bad at doing that as well. Mitsurugi, for instance, as an AI opponent spams blocking. One of the more difficult (lol it's hard ._.) opponents cannot be seen at all -- the entire ring is black and so's s/he. Only time you can catch a glimpse of the person is when they enter the ever-so small cone of light your character is in. But then -- you've no idea where s/he's coming from!
