One benefit of making our own scripts to generate metadata about a project (i.e. tracklists) is that it will all be in one consistent format. We won't suffer discrepancies between formats given to us by individual submitters, and need to manually go in and fix them. We can simply ignore any extra metadata and create our own, "KalebGrace Game Rip" format. This *may* require filenames to be semiconsistent between submissions, but scripts could also be made flexible enough to handle variations between naming schemes. Regular expressions are ridiculous like that.
I guess this is a little late to jump in, but I'm up for helping with this site in what way I can. I know PHP/MySQL, and lately have gotten into Ruby on Rails. I support basically any and all ways to support the spread ofand respect for game music, so I'm willing to put in time to the project. Let me know if I can be of service.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
