I often see something similar with local traffic lights. There might be half a dozen people standing waiting to cross, and every one of them will have pressed the switch when approaching, like those before were simply uncapable.
Me, I get sick of using the paint palettes at college, when so many fellow students just don't bother cleaning them after they're finished. So I end up doing it, time and time again.
