The big part of the update everyone's talking about is that heavy characters don't flinch after certain moves.

Hope that Bowser could be tournament viable has been shot through the roof.

As someone said in another forum, Samus and other projectile happy characters are screwed if this item comes into play often.

While I'd like to be proven wrong (Sonic confirmed before game launch = SOLD), I still can't shake the feeling that his inclusion would most likely be kept a surprise. Besides, a few hardcores who unlock him at the blink of an eye could just spread the word. Game sells beyond Day/Week/Month one, word of mouth would only help.

The only thing that sours me about this update is the fact that you still can't adjust HP in Stamina mode.

Oh, that and items can't be applied individually.

From various impressions on the Smashboards:

I herdz Sonic is fairly tricky to control but pretty good once you get the hang of him.

Bowser is remarkably improved.

Mario is decent, slightly better than he was in Melee

Peach's down smash was nerfed but other than that she's still the same

Fox got hit with the nerf bat

Pikachu is nice

Pit is decent but not remarkable

Ike is slow as fuck but doesn't flinch easily and murders in free for all

Diddy Kong is speedy and pretty nice, but pretty light

Nobody cares about Donkey Kong ;_;

Samus's missiles have shorter range but she can charge in midair

ZSSamus is a rare catch thusly nobody has done much on her

Link is moderately improved.

With the exception of Bowser and Ike, you will have a harder time knocking people off at lower percentages.

I really hope that demo shows up in the public, especially before the new year.

I always liked characters capable of doing a hit and run strategy. Pikachu, Falcon in the 64 version (his moves felt too smooth in Melee), and to a point Roy. Sonic and Diddy Kong look the best for my strategies, so I can't wait to play them.

Also who else thinks we need more females in Brawl? I vote for Micaiah from FE.
