Wow, nice HP for that level. You must really be working the Augment section. :P
My max hits on the Mist Knacks is at 19 right now. I still haven't seen the last two Concurrences though, White Out and Black Hole.
Spoiler:
and thinking back, I don't think I fought a boss in the jungle. Spoiler:
Heh, guess I must have totally bypassed it. I wonder if I can go back and find it now... Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Heh, something like that happened to me. After I left Jahara, I was wandering around in Ozmone Plains, and found a 'secret' entrance, and accidentally found...
Spoiler:
...Who handed my ass to me in seconds. XD Also, I was wandering in one of the Sandsea areas, the northmost point on the map, where there's a bunch of those round tankers that you walk around... And I found this giant ball-of-fire enemy. 42,000-some odd HP. And with Sleepga+Silencega+Firaga in its aresenal... well, there goes my party. Anyone know what that thing's for? A hunt that I missed or something? How ya doing, buddy? |
I found the small elementals to be no problem. They're a little nasty with the magick attacks, but I can generally handle them. The one I was talking about earlier was the Salamand something-something, and it was NASTY huge. Even the Yensa desert guys were attacking it. I decided to help... Bad idea.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Yeah, I tried a Mist Quickening combo on the Giant Fireball of Doom™, and that's when I got my 19-hit combo. And... Yeah, still not a good idea. It finished with the light-element Concurrence, and it still barely took only about 1/4 of the things health. I tried to run, but it was pretty pissed.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
@Spatula: I don't EXACTLY remember, but I think it had Salamand in the the name. The name was two words, and it was this gigantic fireball thing. It was in the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea, the northernmost section. I think in the JP version it was Spirit Salamander, if that helps any.
In any case, I know it had about 42,000 HP [used Libra], and using that 19-hit Quickening only took down about 12,000 or so. I don't know if I'm brave or stupid, but I've leveled up a bit since then [I'm now average 25-26], and I'm gonna try the thing again. Will post the results soon. edit: Found a screenshot, looks like this: Spoiler:
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Yeah, you can generally see the weapons you equip, especially when you equip stuff like the Zodiac Spear.
![]() I tried to beat the Salamand Entite again, and I was... victorious! I used a party of three, Mist attacked, then as soon as it finished, switched ONE character out, and Misted again. Lather, rinse, repeat. I know it was cheap, but it worked. It gave me about 4000 exp, and a small fortune [read: less than 10] LP. Didn't drop any items though, which sucked. Seemed pretty useless except for the experience points... But I'd rather just go chain some other stuff, it's a lot easier than trying to kill that flaming bastard. XD What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Not exactly sure what those 'conditions' are, but every time I've summoned an Esper, [with the exception of the one time I summoned Adrammalech] they've used their 'limit break' like attack. If you thought Belias was good, wait till you see Mateus. Looks amazing.
![]() FELIPE NO |
Note to self: Never again wander into the Necrohol of Nabudis. D:
That place is NASTY. I was just exploring, yet again. Basically just wanted to grab my Zodiac Spear... But DAMN, that trek is way longer than I thought it was. Maybe I just went the wrong way or something. I'm glad I bought 60 Phoenix Downs, in any case. Most amazing jew boots |
It's hidden pretty deep in the Necrohol, so getting through the zone is one requirement. XD Though if you keep ONLY one character on-screen at a time, you lessen your chances of getting a game over quite as fast.
Other than that, there's certain Treasures through the game that you have to NOT open, otherwise the Zodiac Spear won't be there. They are: Spoiler:
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
And yeah, I'm using the Zodiac Spear with Ashe, and she does 3000-4000 damage on most enemies at my level. Pretty good, I guess. ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I have an item, actually... And I don't remember exactly where I found it.
Regarding above boss...:
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
In the fortress town [I forget what it's called, starts with N] just outside of Rabanastre, there's two guards blocking the way to the Highwaste. Go up and listen to them talk, then hop on a Chocobo and approach them again. This will let you enter the Highwastes, and on a Chocobo as well. So you're safe from mobs.
There's one area in the Highwaste that's like a safe zone. There's a Save/Gate Crystal there, and there's a merchant that sells the Golden Amulets for [I think] 3000 gil apiece. And as far as I know, you can do this as early in the game as you want, provided you can pay for the Chocobo--800 gil. How ya doing, buddy? |
On the topic of Gambits, I only have one Gambit set on each character. "Foe: Any" or "Foe: Party Leader's Target" --> Attack.
Sometimes, if I'm at a boss and I know the weak element, I'll change it up and change the Attack command to a spell I know is strong against it, but it goes right back to Attack afterwards. I was speaking idiomatically. |
If you're looking to get to the Necrohol for the Zodiac Spear, the entrance is on the west side of the Salikawood. Going north in the Necrohol takes you around the long way, through the deadlands. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
