I'll take the 16th, please.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
No, the "dynamic difficulty" is definitely there. It's not in the options which is why it's annoying. Gotta love a game punishing you for doing well.
![]() It's pretty noticeable in the early levels when you're trying to use your pistols and suddenly guys aren't going down as easily. EDIT: Oh, awesome writeup by the way. Spot-on with the comment about level variety--a lot of games would do well to take a page from Max Payne in terms of giving you neat places to shoot through (F.E.A.R., I'm looking at you).

I'll bet you like rubber band AI in your racing games, too.
EDIT: oh wow I just realized the hilarity of you saying this considering you just started a high score thread This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Awesome choice, Crash. I have no idea what happened to my copy of Rogue Trip but I'm sad that I lost it. Easily the best Twisted Metal-esque game on the PS1 other than Twisted Metal 2. Also worth noting is how destructible the environments are--there are tons of buildings and monuments to destroy; it's quite impressive for a PS1 game.
You can even blow up Earth.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Zack's breakdance fighting and gravity-defying throw must be seen to be believed.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
I went ahead and copied my post into the Front Page Articles forum like Shin asked. I can't help but notice that almost no one else has. Apologies if I screwed anything up.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I remember getting an issue of Game Players that had some tips for Sonic CD but explained nothing about the game, so I was reading sentences like "Hit the springs and bounce around in the loop until you hit the sign, go into the Past, and exit through the now-vanished wall" and getting really confused. Finally, the veil is lifted.
This was a really nice overview and actually makes me want to try out that demo. FELIPE NO |
