Deus Ex was pretty cool in this regard. Usually it was just an extra line of dialogue here or there, but the game tracks a ton of little actions that you do and responds accordingly.
It took me a while to notice it was happening, because the feedback was so seamless that I just assumed I had done what I was supposed to do. But eventually I started thinking things like, "Wait, I didn't even have to go in that particular area--yet this guy is commenting on it. Neat." I'd like to see a diagram of all the possible objective/dialogue flags. It's probably headache-inducing. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
