When I was visiting a friend in Pennsylvania, we took a trip over to the Bayless Pulp Mill. It's been abandoned since 1933:
Forgotten Pennsylvania: Austin Dam and Bayless Paper Mill We heard stories about people being trapped and left to die in the old pulp vats. Some said it was the work of ghosts of those who died in the flood, others said it was just crazy killers living in the mountains. We explored the site in daylight and didn't see much, other than a basement level full of unnervingly blue water--old chemicals, maybe. We certainly didn't see any bodies. It's a creepy place though, and I wouldn't want to be around there at night. Most amazing jew boots |
