Looks like I'll be picking this up, considering how the price is reasonable.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Are you serious.

That wouldn't be worth it.

I see. I don't have an adapter, so I can't get on online with my PS2.

But if the camos are already on the disc ... why do they still take that much space?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I should have sold it before…now it’s too late.
I feel the same way. When I bought the original MGS3 back in 2004, I had a feeling they were going to release a director's cut version sometime down the road. Just like what they did with Sons of Liberty.

But I didn't care, I wanted to play Snake Eater right then -- so I bought it. I don't regret it, though.

And I never had the urge to sell it. I mean, it's an original copy. It entertained me for some 100+ hours (I'm not joking). It would pain me to sell it.

I'll just pick up Subsistence anyway. They will just have to get along.

But yeah, $39.99 is very reasonable. I initially thought it was going to be released at full price, and I figured I would just stick with my original Snake Eater.

But I want to get this now.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Spatula, you haven't played Snake Eater at all yet, right? (Or am I thinking of someone else?)

If that's the case, you're in for a treat.

Most will call me stupid for turning it back especially when I got it for free, but I heard about the horrid camera system and at that time heard that Subsistence would change that. I thought it would be better to go through Kojima’s “masterpiece” with all the “flaws” of SE fixed up fresh. I don’t think I’d be as hyped if I already played SE.
The camera in the original Snake Eater definitely took some getting used to. I like to play my Metal Gear the stealth and no-kill way, and the camera was unfriendly. I relied heavily on the first-person perspective, and played extremely vigilantly and cautiously.

Which, in the end, really made the experience a lot of fun. The camera became second nature.

Instruction manual. What's that.

I myself don't have an adapter, so I can't help out there. Like Spatula, I'm also a total newb when it comes to online gaming.

I just want to know if there are any hidden fees for Subsistence.

I will pay a visit to Futureshop early tomorrow before heading off to class.

Gotta get mine.

I just got home, after a long day of school and work.

Between getting off from class and going to work, I visited EB (because Futureshop didn't have it when I went in the morning), and picked up a copy. A regular copy, not LE or anything.

I don't have an network adapter with my PS2 Fat, so you guys probably won't see me online.

But I'm REALLY thinking of getting one, just to play this game online.

Spatula, enjoy the game

Nice.

That lag got annoying in the original pretty quick. At first, I thought there was something wrong with my PS2.

I'm gonna be looking for new Easter Eggs. Kojima likes to shakes things up.

Yesterday, I was talking to a female colleague about what we were going to do when we got home. She said some stuff about chores and laundry, cooking etc. I said that I was going to play video games (ie…MGS3) and saying that “yeah it’s a guy thing etc etc etc”. And she’s like… okay so how does sneaking around and hiding yourself apply to the real world? I was like, “herm, I’ll show you sometime”.

So today at the office, she was out of her cubicle talking to one of the managers and I snuck in and hid myself behind a coat rack and crouched down. Basically I was behind a desk and coat rack but my feet were somewhat sticking out. She walks in and doesn’t suspect a thing. She sits down and looks at her computer. I then whisper, “what’s up?” and TOTALLY freaks her out. She had a good laugh after, and then I said, “Application of experience”. So kids, what’s the story? Crouching down and hiding WORKS (provided they are totally un-expecting it), but now she’s more cautious and I’ve lost the element of surprise. FUNNY!~~~~

Now all you need is a cardboard box.

I think we should all have cardboard boxes. Maybe even ones that say "Oranges" on them.

How ya doing, buddy?

Seriously, is Existence really worth that much when you can just watch all the cutscenes on the first disc with the regular edition?
I read that Existence is not all the original cutscenes piece together. But it's got different camera angles, along with narration -- and it's more than three hours long.

Yeah, that's it.

I downloaded Saga Vol. 1, so I didn't lose out much by not pre-ordering. And from what I heard, the Existence disc isn't the greatest thing ever.

I like to go for no-kill playthroughs.

Everytime I go into an area, my objective is sneak in there, hold up every guard, get their items, and interrogate them to hear what they have to say.

Then I CQC and push them to the ground. Then I leave.

They don't know I left.

I recommend tranquilizing bosses. For not killing them, you get

Spoiler:
their camo.

For beating The End without killing him, you get

Spoiler:
a special tranquilizer sniper rifle (if I remember correctly).

In the battle with The End,

Spoiler:
You can sneak up on him and hold him up,
Spoiler:
and get him to shake and give you his Moss Camo.
