I'm not a big fan of citing Wikipedia myself, but dictionary.com in this link also says that sherbert is perfectly acceptable.
The mint chocolate chip is a recent favorite of mine. My college's cafeteria had some in the ice cream section last semester, and I gave it a try. Now I take every chance I can at getting some of the mint chocolate chip before its eaten by everybody else. It's a very popular flavor around here. How ya doing, buddy?
