Spanish accent is like the vocal equivalent of a mustache twirl.

Heh. Thanks, I guess. Although I barely did anything for the av and Dark Nation supplied the sig. We samuses are sharing it for unity.

Gonna have to make the text message on one of Falco's taunts "BONK!" and use it after I kill someone with the homerun bat.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I ordered this last night so I'll have something decent to play Brawl on.

Hmm... that's a pretty good idea. I do have a skype username lost in the sands of time somewhere. I'll have to fire up skype and see if it remembers it for me. If not, I'll just have to get a new one.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Meh, a lot of the newcomers are available from the start, and those are the ones I am most interested in playing immediately. And hey, playing against other people in brawls when no one knows how to use characters yet is hilarious.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Oh, another Washintonian. I reserved mine in Everett just on Saturday, I was glad they were still taking pre-orders.

Well, I won't be there for the tourney. I work Saturday and I'm on 2nd shift, so I get off at 11:00 pm. Not that I really care, I just want my copy. Actually, I don't even know if my gamestop is doing a tourney, I didn't ask.

How ya doing, buddy?

Wow, suddenly we are on version 834. I think I missed 829 versions somewhere.

Now for something with some content, I am very much looking forward to trying Brawl on a widescreen TV. Seems like some stages (Hyrule Temple) will fit a lot better that way, I think. Also less time spent in magnifying glass on the side of the screen.

Lol, even the Miles, the admin, didn't read the new thread title. Bravo.

So looking forward to release tonight. I've been recruiting coworkers to come over and smash with me.

The title was changed after he asked his question.
Touche! A point to you. I fail at keeping track of pagecount.

Sorry Miles

Also, prolly not gonna be smashing online tonight, at least not for a while. I just got a new wireless router and I doubt my buds are gonna give me time to set it up before we start smashing.

Edit: ...and the thread falls silent as East-coasters get their copies, and everyone else gets in line.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

'cause that's where his mirror is, or it's the least cluttered background to use.

And yeah, I agree. I'm pacific time and working 2nd shift. I don't get off till 11:00

Erg, played for about 5 hours straight. Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow and I'm up about two hours later than I should be.

Anyways, did some brawl, did some classic, did some SSE. It's all good so far. Managed to unlock Ness, Marth, Luigi, and Falcon. It's neat how they fine tuned the returning fighters to correct some of the problems they had in melee. I'm noticing certain moves that may have left people extremely vulnerable before tend to have a little extra knockback at the end to prevent retaliation (like luigi's dash attack and Samus' aerial up attack).

Ok, got my wireless router functioning. My friend code is:

And so you recognize me, I made my nick Ani.

My main objective has been unlocking characters reasonably quickly using non-SSE methods, but not just spamming brawls either.

So I got Ness and Marth from brawling with some friends on launch night,
Luigi and Captain Falcon from classic mode,
and Falco and Lucario from doing challenges (100-man brawl and clear Target smash level 5).

Not bad considering I am only like, 8% in SSE (had to work on Sunday, bleh).

Also, I really hope they fix the troubles with Wifi play. Me and a friend tried a 1V1 and it would alternate between periods of unplayable lag and perfectly fine. Rather annoying.

Also if anyone was having trouble adding Ani, the one on the wiki had a mistake (the 6 and 8 were switched). Fixed it.
Thanks for the wiki fix Starnman. That would have sucked otherwise.

I'll generally be on late except for every other weekend, so I probably won't be seeing that much of most of you, sadly. But I still have tons of SSE to do so that'll keep me busy for a while if I can't brawl with you guys.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I managed to have some nice bouts with Dr. Uzuki last night. Had a lag spike during the 2nd match, but the rest were all fine. I'm wondering if it was because of the late hour that it went so smoothly. Either that or it just depends on individual wireless connections. Is anyone using the USB dongle for their wireless connection? If so, how has your lag been? My friend I tried to play with before was using that and our games were pretty awful.

Edit: Hmmm... I'm in Seattle and Uzuki is in Portland, while my laggy friend is in Tucson, AZ. Maybe geographical location is critical. Will have to experiment more.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well, all the unconfirmed friend codes are starting to annoy me, so I've decided I'm just gonna leave my Wii online while I'm asleep for at least a few days. Should clear up that whole "both people need to be online at once to confirm, even if they have already added each other" problem.

Also, figured out how to assign a static IP and make my Wii a DMZ, so homefully mateches will go smoothly if I'm ever awake at the same time as you normal people.

I thought the idea of the DMZ was basically that it forwarded all ports, but just to one device on the network. If that's the case then port forwarding in addition to the DMZ would be kind of redundant.

Won't work for homerun. The coop for that mode just records a single best record with stock icons to show what characters you used to get it.

I don't think I even want to know what the new thread title is about.

Also, regarding Brawl drama currently unfolding. At the very least, we haven't fagged up this thread with "who do you want added in the next smash bros game?" posts yet.

But yes, it's Nintendo, their network sucks, are we really surprised by this? Nintendo doesn't do online. They tried it on the gamecube with one whole game (lol PSO online content) and failed miserably. It is going to take them a while to get this right since they are one whole console generation behind on grasping the online networking concept. Plus, they are nintendo, and for better or for worse, nintendo always does things differently than the competition. So, we get nifty motion controllers, but we get crappy networking.

I bought it to play multi offline with my buddies. Online is just a bonus, when it works. If I want to play games online, I do it on my PC.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

It's called people having better things to do then play videogames when friends are over.
Blasphemy! Begone heretic, no more shall you taint us with your sinful ways!
