Oh, yeah. The server finder for that is kinda buggy. You have to shut off most of the server filters, and then on the drop-down game type menu, choose circuit or sprint.
There are 2 servers that are pretty much always up. The Sir Community's is one, I forget the name of the other.
How ya doing, buddy?

Hey you guys complaining about lack of battleracer servers:
![]() Some proof I'm not insane to think there are servers out there. Uncheck all filters except for same mod, same version only, and no password. Apply filters then set the game mode to circuit in the drop-down menu. I found 12 servers when I searched. And Taegueki, your computer sounds pretty damn good. I don't think you'll have any problems unless you want to max out absolutely everything (Anti-aliasing is a major video card killer at high levels). Don't worry, the game still looks great even with a lot of stuff on medium. I just put dynamic lighting, textures, effects and draw distance at maximum since those are what I really care about, and my computer isn't as good as yours. Oh, and as far as expansions goes: Special Forces is generally considered to be not as good as regular, but the extra unlocks are nice. You can get the extra unlocks by having someone use your account for one game of Special Forces. I did this for Starman. Nobody plays Euro Forces. Armored Fury is fairly popular. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wow, tons of new recruits all of a sudden. You'd think there'd be less since BF2142 came out, not more.
And as I said, if anyone wants the SF unlocks without buying SF, all you have to do is have someone that owns SF play a single round of SF using your account. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Go get it. Good stuff. I need to play with it more. Most amazing jew boots |
Yeah, the stats are nice, but they really stop being gratifying once you hit first sargeant. After that, the next rank is so far away you feel like you aren't making any progress anymore. Same for badges. Bronze are cake, silver for kits and gold for pistol and knife aren't bad, but gold for kits and just silver for vehicles start to take a really long time. When you look at how long it'll take just to get a chance at your next award, it starts to get depressing.
Also, every once in a while I kinda miss the old BF2, back when hardly anyone had unlocks yet. So the differences in armies really made a difference in how you had to fight. Plus, you could tell where friendlies and enemies were just by the weapon firing sounds. Now everyone has unlocks, so none of that matters anymore. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Just make sure you're getting the client installer first, then the patch. It tends to be unhappy if you try it the other way.

Yeah, the one we'll be playing is PoE2. It is actually a sequel, as the original PoE was a mod for Battlefield Vietnam.
Make sure you get the PoE2 v1.1.5 patch too. There are a bunch of download mirror links on the front page of the Point of Existence website. Most amazing jew boots |

Yeah, battleracer rocks. I need to start playing more and try to move up the ladder.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Generally when you get disqualified it's because you didn't pass the checkpoints in the right order. Make sure you look on the map to see where you need to go.

What track and where? I've never had that kind of problem.

More on the topic of "Bravo, EA" regarding 2142:
http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=52493 Edit: Ooh, they killed the thread. Basically, there was supposed to be "titan drop" points that were awarded to the pilot of a dropship whenever a passenger podded out of the dropship onto the enemy titan. Thing is, it turns out the game is coded so that the points are awarded whenever a passenger vacates a seat. This means that if someone in the back just switches seats really fast, you get a point for every switched seat. Soon as this glitch was found, people started using it get around 2000 points a round, easy. So the leaderboard has basically just been a place to show off how badly EA coded the game. I was speaking idiomatically.

Sorry I missed it, a friend of mine's computer bit it, so he was using mine to do some schoolwork. I have been playing a fair amount lately, and I managed to get a new award, veteran transport. I've also been playing around with the assault class a fair amount and getting good with the grenade launcher.

Well, I have settled into my new apartment, and I finally got a computer desk yesterday, so I'm back to playing BF2. I'd be up for a frag session whenever.

Meh, I play games to get away from reality. Vanilla BF2 for me. I'll see those of you that want to play regular BF2 later.

Yeah, I haven't been playing too much lately either. I'm with you on the Forgotten Hope 2 though, I've been waiting for it for quite some time now.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
