I agree with those who have mentioned Foster's. I've been a cartoon fanatic for years, and I weep openly that the state of cartoons has been going downhill since around '97 for various reasons. Foster's is the only cartoon I can really stand to watch now, and it's one of the few that actually usually lasts the full 22 minutes. I can't really get into the cartoons that rely on segments because it seems like there is little time for the characters and stories to develop.
Adult shows like Family Guy and, particularly, Futurama, can be fun, but they tend to lack a certain something that "kiddie" cartoons used to have. IMO, most adult cartoons are just animated sitcoms that half the time could work almost as well in a live-action format. The cartoons I like have a greater sense of fantasy and lack that sense of realism that adult shows usually have. Futurama comes closest to meeting my fantasy needs.
