Galactic Civilisation 2

Anyone got the game?
Its quite awesome (so much like Master of Orion 2...).

I love fiddling with new ship designs, the races are interesting and diplomacy is fun !
The Campaign, so far, isn't something to write home about, but who did need a campaign in MoO2 anyways, eh?

The graphics are fine for the game, there is a lot of stuff to do, worlds to conquer and build up.
Oh, the building up is interesting. Unlike MoO2 you actually decide yourself where to place the buildings and try to invent technology to clear out swamps etc to build more.

Oh yeah, and they are currently pissed off at Starforce.
A Starforce ADMINISTRATOR shared a link to a bit-torrent of Galciv2 on their forums O_o (there are theories going around the guy did it BECAUSE GalCiv did not use the starforce protection).

Starforce sucks.

Many call it a MoO2 beater but I haven't played enough of it yet to see wether this is true or not. So far it looks like the this game was made with care... everything is so deep and detailed. Most of the time it reminds me of MoO2 so often I get the idea that they decided to clone a large part. The game also resembles Imperium Galactica II very much. Well... i'm gonna play some more Highly recommended.

Note: Get the two recently released patches, it fixes alot

I knew you can build any kind of ship you want (even if I did not mess around with it too much yet) but thats just awesome!

Btw: GalCiv2 has sold better than Stardock thought.
It sold far beyond their expectations, which is pretty cool and shows that people want quality and are ready to pay for it.

I also think the idea with the patches and other stuff only for people who bought the game is a great idea.
If the creator puts out great support and free stuff, the games will sell good because people who enjoy the games want to have access to that too.

Play it once on the easiest level?
I also learned you should push out ships to colony planets as fast as you can, because that is what the computer will do and if he gets control over more planets than you, he'll be able to produce faster, to research faster, etc
