Yeah, you can do a custom match of 1 second and just keep repeating that match over and over for like I dunno 3 hours or something and unlock every character. You still have to face the character you unlock in combat.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
1 second matches are still legitimate matches to the game. *shrug*
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I found a rather amusing review.
press the ACTION BUTTON!! He makes a few good points. Good for a laugh. Take a look. =) I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Oh you can believe if I had to suffer my videogame addiction in Europe or Australia I'd have a chip. That shit is ridiculous.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
I wish they'd make one of these for the PS2. I'd legitimately buy PAL Ico if they did. I downloaded an ISO of it but I've never gotten around to chipping my PS2. I mean if I have to spend money permanently changing my system that could possibly break it I don't feel like spending money on the game especially if it isn't the special cardbox art drool edition of Ico. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Yeah, I don't know how I feel about shoving a piece of plastic into my machine.
The Memor32 looks pretty cool though. I may use this for PAL Ico and perhaps the Namco x Capcom fan patch whenever that is available. I'd just rather not mess up a perfectly good PS2 for one or two games. The Memor32's ability to save all games to one card to your PC is pretty awesome too. It would be even better if you could use it for old PSX games as well. Memor32 Memento Team Resources - Unlock Your Playstation 2! How ya doing, buddy? |

Okay, your ava/sig is looking pretty awesome, Ani. I do hope this means I'll be seeing your posts all over the place as a result.

I'm kind of worried most about Marth's voice. If they bothered to change Ike's then he's probably been changed too. What I really want to know is if we have the option to use Japanese voices and put our names in katakana/hiragana like in Melee. Brawl has crazy amounts of options but I'm going to really miss the language and audio options the most if they've been nixed.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Josiah, it would have been good if they had just done the English and Japanese at the same time like they did for Melee. They had a much better plan last time to just merge the Japanese and American games together and have the language default to the appropriate region. Unless it's stock related there would have been no month delay due to localization because the localization would already be done.
God damn Captain Falcon is hilariously awesome as usual. ='D He better get another game this generation. You can never have enough of him. =') This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
We could always use Team Speak or something.

Metroid Prime Hunters also has voice chat. I forget if it's in game or if it's only in the lobby though. So yeah, it's not like it's not possible to do on the Wii.
I liked the IGN review because for the most part it's right. Brawl is an amazing game but there still a lot of things that could have been done to make it one of the most solid games ever. There are two things that I believe prevented this. The first thing is Nintendo itself and their refusal to better the Wii itself with a diverse yet unified online system instead of Friend Codes and bettering the Wii hardware storage wise be it an external harddrive or taking great advantage of the SD card port. You don't like hearing random people when you play them online then you should have the option to turn them off individually or them all and with the use of a harddrive or through an online database or something it should remember exactly who you've decided to mute for the future in any game. You should also have the option of using a keyboard and disabling keyboard chat if you like. You should have the option of setting up rooms and inviting people. You should be able to add people you've played online with to your growing buddy list. You receive confirmation from them before they are your buddy. Now for the more Smash related things. You should be able to save the user made stage of the day to your harddrive as much as you want. You should be able to use user made stages in your own rooms you set up to play with people you invite. There should be room for misc expansion and downloadable content via a harddrive. The second thing that prevented this is that inevitably Sakurai has held back so he can improve on the game and make it better next time for a sequel that may appear late in the Wii's life or god willing on the next Nintendo console where they fix their online system, beef it up to then current generation level, and add a decent amount of storage which will hopefully be huge and on SSD which will hopefully be really inexpensive. But right, Sakurai has had stuff since the original that he's saved up just until now with Brawl. No doubt he has tons more. He could have added more stages and characters from Sonic and Snake's world. He absolutely should have made more assist trophies and Pokemon which I actually do find very disappointingly. There should have been 4 times as many of each of those as playable characters. Oh and more than likely he's also testing the waters with Snake and Sonic to see how they work. He's basically made it so the next time there is a new Smash 3rd parties will be crawling to work with him. It really helps that there is such obvious room for improvement because it only gives them hope that eventually another chance will come around. He's a tricky man and although he could have made Brawl even better with the limitations he was given he didn't with good reason. And you can put good money there will be another Super Smash Brothers. It's only going to be the best selling core gaming Wii title for the Wii's entire lifespan just like Melee. I was speaking idiomatically. |
You can make and save your own. I believe you can also save them to your SD card. I'm unsure if you can play them directly from the SD cards though.
So basically if you enjoy a STAGE OF THE DAY then you'll need to remake it yourself. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Well there is that web editor thing. Oh and I think it's possible to send the stages to people you have in your friends list.
FELIPE NO |
Niiice, Krel. Now someone needs to draw Peach as a headcrab zombie. ='D
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Just a note, guys, that while Head Crab Zombie Peach is freaking hilarious if you don't have something to add or respond to the thread beyond OH MAN THAT IS VERY FUNNY AND AWESOME then please do not make a post and instead prop the post.
If you don't heed my words then Skills and I will have a race to see who can close the thread until Sunday. Post with quality and substance like you should anywhere else on the forums. Thanks. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Seriously, Krel. You could have added more to that post. I'm going to leave it as an example.
HOWEVER. THE NEXT POST THAT IS HAS NO SUBSTANCE AND DOESN'T ADD TO THE DISCUSSION WILL GET THIS THREAD CLOSED UNTIL SUNDAY. WE WILL FOLLOW THROUGH ON OUR WORD. DO NOT TEST US ANYMORE. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
lol I just went out to my local Gamestop today and preordered the second to last copy they had of their reserves. =')
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
That's why I preordered late actually. I talked to the guy and he said that he only had 2 left to meet the reserve amount that they had. I'm cool with that, but had I preordered months ago and they suddenly didn't find out until now that they didn't have enough to cover all the preorders then I'd have been super pissed off.

Today's update was a bunch of screenshots that Sakurai has received that he thought were amusing and they are.
Just wanted to point out a rather amusing one titled "Tingle's Dream". ![]() Do notice Snake lurking way in the top right corner. Oh Sakurai (or really Gomadoufu) you card~ I was speaking idiomatically. |
Yeah, and what Skills said. If I hadn't been able to preorder today I would have gone over to Best Buy, Toys R Us, and Walmart on the release day. One of them would have it, and should the fates and my Gamestop betray me then that's exactly what I'll do. How ya doing, buddy? |
Ah, I just woke up. Unlocked all characters and beat the SSE with my friend. Yeah, it was pretty long. I have no idea how you unlock Toon Link via the SSE. I got him after beating SSE and doing Classic with Lucas. I hear in the Japanese version you would get him by going through it with Link or some nonsense. You are supposed to be able to go through Classic with any character and unlock Jigglypuff in the Japanese version but that is not the case for the American version. You unlock her via the The Swamp. There are a billion barrel cannons at the end. Avoid the barrel cannons, swim, and take the first door that you'd normally be forced to pass because of the damn barrel cannons. You'll be warped to fight Jigglypuff. To unlock Wolf go to The Ruins. You'll have to go all the way to the end. You'll end up going down this long moving platform with crystal spikes jutting out at you. DO NOT TAKE THE FIRST DOOR. Ignore the first door and the platform will continue moving down. Take the second door and you'll be warped to fight Wolf. Oh yeah you can redo these levels on Easy and still unlock these characters although the fights will not be on Easy. *shrug*
I beat SSE on Normal because that's how I play games first and I don't care to go through the monotony of getting raped by stupid enemies that I tend to ignore and run past because I tired of fighting them hours ago. Most amazing jew boots |
lol I played a random online match against two scrubs and a computer. It was laggy as hell. I have no idea why because I did a spectator match after and it had no lag at all. Anyway, I just demolished them with Lucas and then did PK Starstorm and blew everyone on screen away. Oh the victory music was quite sweet. After my spectator match in which my bet against the fag team that had Sonic and Lucario I lost my connection. Wireless is very silly.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Play SSE on normal with a friend. It's difficulty is the right amount and you should get through the game well enough. Took us about 8 hours or so to beat SSE and unlock all characters. Now we're going back through the stages that we missed stuff on easy to get 100% completion. Some stages just confuse the hell out of me on what we're missing because we've searched every nook and cranny we can find. I'm guessing you have to be a certain character on those stages or something. It's really weird.
