That's Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. Episode 1 where they're showing off the film they made for the school festival. The second book goes into so much crazy detail about what really happened. Great stuff. =)

I'm going to guess Kanon with no clear basis other than my gut instict says Kanon. I watched up to like episode 5 I think and stopped just to assure Blah that this forum has terrible taste in anime. This might not be Kanon at all which just furthers his point. We should all probably watch Kanon.
