The Blu-Ray packaging is actually pretty high quality.
It's not too bad. I just hope they don't use blue plastic like I've seen so far. The one thing I don't like is that blu ray logo that takes up that needless space up on the top. Put it in a corner on the back or something. Jeez. I mean at least for a PS3 game you shouldn't need it considering you aren't buying it b/c it uses blu ray media. You're buying it for the game.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well as long as it doesn't make all the characters on the cover look like smurfs and is just the header I guess that's cool. I always thought clear blue plastic was silly.

Cache. You viewed them before copying their address and posting them here. None of us here viewed them before you did. That website must have it so that if the images are viewed off their website it displays that image instead. So yeah, press ctrl + F5 and you'll see the images we see.

That's bullshit. Nintendo does help out 3rd parties. Check out Ubisoft.

But how many companies does Nintendo really work closely with?
Well Nintendo has set up Brownie Brown which has worked on Seiken Densetsu games. I'm sure there are plenty of times where Nintendo has helped out third parties. I don't know in what ways Sony helps out third parties but even if so Nintendo might not help as much as Sony considering they have their own games to worry about, but to so blatantly say they don't is a bit much.

You should. That's why they make hdmi to dvi cables. HDMI and DVI are practically the same thing. Difference is that HDMI also carries audio information. So you'll have to use the optical out or stereo for audio if you do that.

Uh, you don't think Sony thought ahead and put some sort of propriety code or some bullshit on the harddrives they include in the systems to prevent you from doing this?

Have they really? Seems like a pretty bad idea for Sony. I can imagine this being an extremely easy way for hackers to mess with the system.

Guh. Please don't spout such nonsense.

The Wii has the ability to access things via USB. However, the Wii must be programmed to recognize whatever is plugged into the USB. It's planned that in the future via a firmware update that the Wii could recognize external harddrives via USB. However, if this means any external harddrive or specialized harddrives sold only by Nintendo remains to be seen.

It also remains to be seen how far an extent the SD card port can be used as that will be the most abused feature I can foresee. At least for now.

Yeah. Get a DVI male to female cord and just plug the cable you want in at easy reach access.

Double Post:
Oh Metal, have you seen a switch box like that does the opposite. I want one that takes one input and switches between 2 outputs. I have two displays and would like to switch to both of them on the fly.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

If it accepts component then you should use that. It's a better analog signal than s-video and composite. If it's a standard-definition tv then it's probably low-end component at probably 480p and progressive scan but that's still better than s-video and composite. You'll just have to set your PS3's video settings accordingly.

Hmmmmm... I'm not sure. You could be right. It might just be 480i. That should still be better than s-video and composite though.

I kind of find the whole situation kind of amusing though since the PS3 should really be played on a better display anyway. That's just me though.

Metal Sphere, I'm curious. What HDTV set did you end up buying that's great for both SD and HD? I myself got a nice 32 inch Samsung.

This one to be specific...

http://www.samsung.com/Products/TV/L...S3296DXXAA.asp

It only goes up to 1080i but it does have HDMI in the back and does 720p most excellently. It also handles SD very well unlike most LCD TVs.

I've heard Linux on the PS3 is pretty hokey and not nearly as good as a few decent cheap parts laying around that would cost a third the price of a PS3, hell even for a Windows machine. I mean its one thing if you can get Linux to interact with all the usb ports and such to use mouse/keyboard and a printer but if still runs like shit then why even bother? I wouldn't recommend using a PS3 as your home computer. What happens when someone wants to do a report on it and you want to play PS3 games. Bummer times that's what. Just build a cheap machine out of some decent parts. Download an illegal copy of XP Pro for all I care. I don't recommend the PS3 as a replacement computer, not in the least.
