My friends and I are planning on going to the LA one, hopefully there will still be tickets by the time we order them, they're pretty expensive...

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Thank you Tommy for creating such an amazing concert! I went to the Hollywood Bowl one last night, and me and my friends enjoyed it alot! We got to meet industry people and enjoy amazing arrangerments of the classic video game themes as well as new ones. Great job getting David Hayter playing Snake to introduce the concert!

It was also great to see a different variety of music, not just from RPGS or console games, but also PC games like Myst, Civilization and WoW, and more recent games like God of War, and who didn't love the short but big finale of music from the Halo 3 trailer played live and have the voice of Cortana on stage speaking the crytic line as well?

The videos, the performance, the acoustics and everything was fantastic, if there's gonna be another concert here in LA in future years, I'm defintly coming back again!

Once again, great job and thank you!

How ya doing, buddy?

Please have the music from Castlevania in the DVD, PLEASE. Along with the usual good stuff like MGS, Mario, Zelda etc.

Can't wait to get it already though, hope there will be alot of special features in it, as well as an angles feature where we can choose to watch the concert recorded footage or the game videos you put up on the screen.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

KHU is gonna be there as well, good thing, cause they need to see this, not just Play!.... Though it would be awesome Tommy, if you guys can get the KH2 credits suite Fantasia Alla to be in future concerts, since that suite shows Yoko Shimomura's true qualities and themes in the Kingdom hearts series.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

if you do consider doing Xenosaga 3 for VGL Tommy, may I suggest some less epic and softer pieces from it? I particulalry wanna hear Hepatica~Kos Mos being performed by two sopranos voices, a soft holy piece, at least integrated in a suite.

In fact you should consider interweaving more soft tracks into the Suites. I mean say you take the music from the end of credits of Kingdom Hearts 2. It already has a whole bunch of different themes in it. (Though it will be awesome as well if you intergrate Dearly Beloved from KH2's Opening Menu screen in the very beginning of the KH2 suite. Its a soft piano piece with the orchestra strings and soft horns backing it up alittle.)

http://bluelaguna.net/music/kh2ostsoundtrack/mp3s.php

First track is Dearly Beloved. If you listen to the KH1 version, and compare it with Kh2's version, you can hear a great difference, and shows how the game evolved.

Fantasia Alla Marcia For Piano, Chorus And Orchestra, which is track 34 on disk 2, is the end credits suite.

Anyway, my point is in terms of music from RPGS, I think it should be in medly form like KH2 did for the end credits, since most people might only hear it once live, getting various themes in 6-8 mins of music is better than just 4 mins of one single theme. The ones from FF or KH should be done that way in my opinion, since we already have god knows how many live versions of Aeris theme or One Winged Angel or Hikari from various concert CDs or arrange albums, a original medly arrangement would make it even more fresh.

The worst part is that there should be more of Yoko's music from KH1 and KH2 being played, not just Utada, and I'm speaking as a fan of Utada, but Yoko's music should be more exposed.

Also one last thing, after seing Lucas Arts playing more comtepeory rock stuff at VLG, here's an idea, what about music from Silent Hill? I know its a horror genre, but its possible to make the video more PG. (Show more characters and less on monsters.) Silent Hill 2 is perfect since its more character focused.

Well I posted this before Tommy, but I like to hear some actual Kingdom Hearts pieces by Yoko Shimomura, not just Utada's theme songs. Please read my previous post for details. I also nominate Silent Hill music.

Thank you! Looks like VGL will be back at LA again next year! Awesome!

So I'm guessing David Hayter recorded stuff for the concert? His Live voice acting kicked ass at the LA concert this year.

Its also great despite your busy schedule you can still find time to post here.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

ROAD TRIP!! It's not that far (if you went to the Hollywood Bowl show)

Here... I'll sweeten the pot for ya (cause you always give us such great comments). If you come I'll get ya backstage passes so you can meet Mr. Bluth in person by yourself.

Ooooohhhhh!!! You know it's tempting!!
I currently reside in LA Tommy, hence why I was able to go to the Hollywood Bowl one, the Arizona one isnt feasible...

And trouble is I may be moving to another country soon... Mostly due to college education and Visa issues. (Any immigration is a pain in the neck.)

Thank you so much for offering though, I would love to meet Mr Bluth, but my situation wont allow it I'm afraid, in fact I'm not sure if I can go to the next Hollywood Bowl Show... Especially since the last one was September, which will be during school semesters, meaning I can't make some vacation trip to see it. (Though I'm sure my boyfriend and his pals will go for me, and there will be DVDs)

However, if VLG never dies, then in about 2-4 years time I will return here, for my boyfriend, VGL (along with various Cons) and future career and will be able to attend again.

And if for some horrible reason I can't, well, I went to one of the greatest showings ever! WOOT!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wow... The deciet that Play! gets away with appalls me. I don't see any reason why anyone should go to their concerts or support them anymore. I don't care if they got Akira and other awesome composers or Angela Aki whom I REALLY wanna see live, nothing excuses them from being liars.

Speaking of which, any chance to get Miss Aki to perform for VGL? Along with Akira Yamaoka to play Silent Hill?

And Mr. Maul, no need to jump on anyone's throat when someone says something "bad" about Play!. If their dishonesty might affect VGL in anway, it needs to said and aknowledged. Sometimes people worded things wrong, and thanks to the way the forums work, can't edit everything. And no, this doesn't signify that Jason and Tommy are still at each other's throat, I'm sure in Tommy's case at least, he's taking it with a professional stride, avoiding actual name calling or insults and just state the facts, dunno about Jason though... I mean, he IS lying and all... Kinda bugs me that you tend to post when someone says something bad about Play! or Eminence posts something not to your standard, whereas you're absent in other times. Are you just a fan of Play!, or has VGL or Eminence done something not to your liking? (Aside form your personal views on Seraph, which can't possibly represent all of Eminence.) Tommy has a right to express his views on the bad things Play! has done, and his veiws can't possibly affect VGL. Stop associate one (or two) man's opinions, feelings and views and just state that it will affect their concert series badly. In fact, thanks to Tommy and Seraph, Play! just lost one potential concert goer. Me. How is THAT bad for VGL?

Forgive me for asking all this thats kinda off topic, but man its been bugging me alot. I've been to VGL and it was great. I've heard recordings and things from Play!, and I am NOT impressed at all with their management or arrangements, the performance in the leaked recording wasn't as good as VGL either. Haven't gone to Eminence yet, but will soon, and from videos their performance was amazing. Why the seemingly defense on a concert series thats horribly managed, has mediocre arrangements and have been decieving people through marketting and the media? Or is this all about your high standard of "professionalism" again? So in order to remain professional, one can't voice his veiws and opinions, and that whatver comes flying out of his mouth MUST be assiociated to their company/group? What the hell are those disclaimers for DVD commentaries then?

Play! is badly handled and they are liars, and Tommy and Seraph voiced their displeasure and facts, thats all, no need to blow this out proportion.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I find it ridiculous of Square withholding video rights like the concerts will spoil to the fans or something, HELLO! We're fans, we all seen the footage from Advent Children. Not to mention is advertising, not everyone at the concerts has seen everything on FF. There may be people still unaware of Advent Childre and may go get the DVD after the concert.

What have they got to lose by letting concerts use the videos? NOTHING! They get more out of it.

How ya doing, buddy?

Video Games Live CD Releases October 15

Tommy Tallarico's Video Games Live concert series has been traveling all over the world as of late. But if you still haven't gotten the chance to check it out (or want to relive your memories of the show), you can buy a CD of the performances on October 15.

The CD will feature medleys from games like The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Halo, Warcraft, Sonic the Hedgehog, Tron, Myst, Civ IV, and Final Fantasy. Performers include the Slovak National Orchestra, the Crouch End Chorus, and pianist Martin Leung.

You know, Martin Leung: the guy who did that Castlevania medley on the pipe organ in New Haven earlier this year. Can we get that on the CD if we ask nicely enough?

You'll be able to buy the album, on the EMI Classics label, at the VGL concert in Los Angeles on October 19 during the E For All expo.

Well I doubt Martin Leung is fully trained on Organ arrangements and playing, seeing as he IS a piano player. I think they used the Organ for sake of effects.

And when you play for a huge audience, you always pick the popular famous ones, its like going to a concert and the biggest cheers always come from the Hit singles or famous songs. Its just the nature of things unfortunatly.

Oh well, I think Martin did a good job for what its worth, and I am still excited for the CD.
