You have to remember a fact that new shows always end their season one without a major cliffhanger and that most things tie up well, with somethings that can lead to a 2nd season. Avatar got a 2nd season and it did what most shows will do in its 2nd season by pilling it up with twists and turns that caused everything to fall apart for the characters by the end of it, which Nick almost has to make sure it has a season 3. You start with a postive light on the story, THEN you make things go downhill for the characters after season 2 to keep making people hooked. And what makes Avatar different from regular cartoons like Spongebob or Scooby is its continuing developing story and most importantly, character development, Avatar has probably one of the strongest character developments I've ever seen in a animated show, its either on par or way beyond what Justice League or Teen Titans has ever done. Just look at Zuko's development, and you can see they created a complex character who is morally ambiguous. You also have characters like Azula who is one of the few competant villains in animated show history.(Justice League had its share of villians who dont think things through) She takes no chances, shes manipulating and persuasive and an amazing deadly fighter. Avatar is not a show that you can just watch an episode and expected to be blown away (althought my boyfriend was very impressed by the fight scenes in season 2 finale, and its now a recruited fan), its like trying to watch your first 24 episode in mid season. If the show does turn out to be not your cup of tea, then alright we all have different tastes. But basing on an entire solid show with good writing and solid characters with intense developments, choreograph scenes that rival Bebop, great animation and then compare that to of all things, Scooby Doo, its just silly. Its like comparing Ghost in a shell with Naruto or something. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() { :: ~ Air - the 1000th Summer ~ :: } :: That sea went on forever, into the blue distance :: * That road went on forever, continuing straight ahead * ~ : Summer comes again, shining silver : ~ : When I close my eyes, suddenly I can see that day's blue sky :
