WE GET FAMTISU... I mean... 1 UP CUP!
And more updates on the expansion as well! It means all those hot updates and AoI that the Japanese are basking in will soon be ours! OURS I SAY! Everyone who has left or on haitus need to come back for this CUP event AND AoI, its actually gonna make the game FUN and rare hunting will no longer be a pain! And SKILLS are actually needed to kill things, especially if you're melee! Seriously, AoI will fix just about every problem people have with this game. Come back guys! In case Para doesn't know himself, the AoI importers have reported that with some awesome luck or roll, you can get a S rank WEAPON instead of a S rank weapon BOARD. I don't think it will have an element, but the point is, its possible to actually get the weapon instead of synthing it, and possibly fail it. If the Expansion doesn't require Key Gen again, I bet the population will go up significantly. Not to mention the 360 version doesn't have the death Penalty fixed yet... Least last I checked... And alot of players there tend to be all about E-peen. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() { :: ~ Air - the 1000th Summer ~ :: } :: That sea went on forever, into the blue distance :: * That road went on forever, continuing straight ahead * ~ : Summer comes again, shining silver : ~ : When I close my eyes, suddenly I can see that day's blue sky :

What do you meant by Item balance? You mean equipment?
You missed out ALOT since the first month... You didn't even get to try out the advanced class and the new weapons. You could choose either hyrbid classes that combine 2 class's ablities together, or go advanced on hunter, ranger or force type. That and the insane amount of battle system changes and other chages in synth rate, grinding, drop rates, along with tonnes of new clothes and crap all coming out in the expansion... Oh! Don't forget the awesome firebreak event that was on monthes ago. And alot of missions came out as well. Man, you guys seriously missed out alot. At least consider coming back when the expansion hits. Yeah, Sega dropped the ball when they didn't update fast enough in the beginning, but from the looks of it they've gotten a lot better since the hiccups in the first 2 monthes. Its a pity nowadays, no one has the patience anymore. I'm always up for helping people who either are new, or low lvled, or went on LONG hiatus. I really urge everyone to give this a 2nd chance, especially those who dropped out after a month or two. Theres alot more to do now, and even more when the expansion hits. The changes that will be patched fixes so many problems in this game is not funny. And its way too many to list it out... The importers are having a blast already with JP AoI. And the 1Up cup event will be the best way to catch up in levels, and getting alot of rares in the process. It starts October 19th. Hope some people here will consider coming back... I was speaking idiomatically.

I play on PC/PS2 unfortunatly.
Anyone else wanna consider returning? Don't listen to the damn critics. Most of them only played what was offered in the first month and bashed the lack of content. Not a single one of them realised that a game like this needs UPDATES to keep people playing. Combat systems is much better and smoother than PSO was, and the expansion will make melee alot more fun and letting people use their timing skills to perform chained critical hits.
The game is MUCH bigger now, and the expansion will fix just about every gripe and grumble us long term players have. Trust me on this. I had alot of complains regarding this game, but luckily Sega listened to the JP fans who ALSO had the same gripes, and now we're getting all the fixes we wanted. Expansion will contain these: Melee attacks now actually require timing skills to pull of chained attacks, drop rates and synth rates have increased alot so its no longer a fool's journey to S rank hunt. Bigger rooms, alot more clothes with alot more colors to choose from. More missions, lobbies and better boss fights that involve strategy in its terrain or something than just running up and bashing it. We will also get a goddamn casino. And that's just abit of what the expansion has to offer, and I haven't even gone into details yet. Not to mention, if you play on the PC/PS2 servers, you don't even need to pay to buy the game, just torrent the PC version, install it, and pay 10 bucks each month of subscription. If the expansion doesn't have a CD key either, it means no extra cost! I am always up for helping new players. If you join the PC version, which will cost you NOTHING if you download the game from torrents etc, I'm always up for helping you level, and the 1UP cup can boosts your levels fast due to the bonus levels we get if we S rank those event missions. Now its the PERFECT time to level up before expansion hits. And to people who are still playing, all the existing clothes we have now will get new colors in expansion, check all of them out here! JamesZeal/Things that are less random - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting ALSO! The swimsuits are now TWO pieces, meaning we can mix the bikini top or the bottom skirt with OTHER outfits legitimatly! WOOT! ![]() And guys can go barechested and do whatever the hell they want with pants and shoes. Like this dude in the background: ![]() So please! The expansion will make this game the way it should have been a year ago! I had the patience to keep going despite flaws, but the expansion is the perfect reason for everyone to come back! And coming back NOW can let your level up faster with the 1UP cup going on October! Come on back! How ya doing, buddy? ![]() { :: ~ Air - the 1000th Summer ~ :: } :: That sea went on forever, into the blue distance :: * That road went on forever, continuing straight ahead * ~ : Summer comes again, shining silver : ~ : When I close my eyes, suddenly I can see that day's blue sky :

Uh, I have work tomrrow though, and I am on Sydney Australia time...
NOTE: I play PC/PS2 version! What I can do is leave Lizonia, my main,at her shop. So all you guys have to do is to search "Lizonia" in the shop search under "search shop name", pop in, and leave me your partner card. Just press whice ever is your enter button targetted on me, and select 'send card'. Lizonia ![]() Partner cards are essentially friend invites for your friend list, and I can see where you guys are if you're online, and send you a mail. If you guys are up for playing with me, just leave me your cards and I will mail you when I come home from work. Which will be around the middle of your night in the US... If you do not see Lizonia there, it means the servers have booted me off, or some idiot in my place unplugged my laptop. I will be on around 3 AM EST or 1 AM West coast if the card receiving fails... I dunno what will happen if multiple people try to leave me cards... Like I said before, I am always up for using my alts to help level up new players or lowbies, so leave me your card if you are interested! Regarding PC vs PS2 If you have a good PC that has enough room, get it. The PS2 is techinically the most flawed version in all the versions, though keep in mind 360 people can ONLY play with the 360 people... The PS2 version takes longer to load, so when you switch weapons in your palette, it takes time for it to actually load and be usuable, and in the heat of the battle? Its NEVER a good thing. I have seen my BF played the PS2 version long enough to see how annoying it can get. Not to mention graphically it looks the worst unless your PC is really crap, and even then, the PC version has much better loading times and if its good, has a much better framerate as well. So in short, unless your PC cannot handle it, get the PC version. Another good thing is you can download the game for free(illegally) and just pay the subscription if you go PC. Course I would recommend getting it legit, but the option is there for PC... And yes controllers can be installed and used for the PC version, and its highly recommended. Keyboard is not exactly the best option for hack and slash. My controller is the PS2 one, using a radio shack USB converter. Each button was implemented manually as oppose to the defaults set, cause the default button settings were useless. If you are gonna use the PS2 radioshack USB converter, here's the button set up: ![]() And PC people can play with PS2 and vice versa, 360 people are stuck there on their own... Though at times the PC/PS2 servers get patches and updates faster than the 360, like the death penalty changes. And yes, people ARE online, especially since the 1UP cup is announced, not to mention news and images from the Ambition importers have caused everyone to go back and keep playing, including me. I was feeling dead for the past few weeks with PSU... The AoI expansion will fix and improve the game ALOT. I gotten th e spark back, and I want to urge everyone who gave up too quickly to come back and give this one more chances. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() { :: ~ Air - the 1000th Summer ~ :: } :: That sea went on forever, into the blue distance :: * That road went on forever, continuing straight ahead * ~ : Summer comes again, shining silver : ~ : When I close my eyes, suddenly I can see that day's blue sky :

It may have something to do with the IN GAME menu, you need to select CONTROLLER inside the actual game I think.
And like I said, I am willing to help out lowbies. Alot of new people are coming into PSU and witht he 1UP cup, you can level up ALOT faster. So what if you're level 10? Alot of people are probably lower than you. Whether you wanna start over or keep the level 10 is up to you. Keep in mind in expansion you can change your char's face with meseta, the only thing locked is their proportion. While it does have monthly payments, this game is NOTHING like FF11. And why were the servers down? Was there a crash while I was asleep? Maintenance doesn't occur till thursday nights. Guys, I am also online at PSU RIGHT NOW. Come to my room and drop me a card if you are interested. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Its under Subscriptions. But I think you need delete your old subcription and make a fresh NEW one. Do not worry, your character is not linked to your subscription, so making a new one won't delete them. Subscription is all about the payment and whether or not you can login to your game.
EDIT: Laugh out loud, Sega is dumb. Fine print my ass. ![]() What's your character name and race & gender? Are you on PC/PS2 or 360 servers? Come to my room guys, so lonely! Aww why can' you play anymore Winter Storm?
And I am back from work Lukage, so uh, holler if you're done AFK. We could do runs or chat or something... As for your gamepad, you need to switch to CONTROLLER on your IN GAME menu options. I say 1UP would last probably about a month, and like Firebreak, more 1UP missions wil release after a fortnight from the beginning of the event. I would know cause the 2nd set of missions can yield you 30 rappy feathers if you S it.
Rappy feathers are needed to get the last set of clothes at 1UP. Miss those clothes and god knows when we can get them again. The clothes are the Bikini swimsuits, Rappy suit, and Formal wear. And again, I am urging people to come back to this game. Lukage, the Dalk Falkis Co Op mission gives good MP as well, and alot more EXP than Her Secret Mission at the Neudaiz Guadians HQ. Canalia is currently at that lobby so she can spam MP till shes maxed out her Guntecher. Alot of people are there as well. Its the current HOT SPOT. Having some... "Issues" with the Australia ISP. By the way, Australia internet sucks balls. If you ever have to come here to live, NEVER pick Telstra as your ISP. Money leeches and cheats they are.
I will be on this weekend to play with my BF and stuff, but probably not any further to avoid going even beyond my download limit. It should be fixed by monday though... If you wanna party while I am on this weekend, it will have to be with my boyfriend's party, and there should already be 4 of us... So yeah. I get cards by joining random parties, or helping newbies. Its not as hard as you think. If the person turns out to be an A-hole, just don't talk to them anymore, or even blacklist. I even met up with people on PSO-WORLD, and got their cards too. People like Mitsunarari Ryuki, Feb, Ami etc play ALL the time. I'm not sure if I will be on later, since even if I do, I can't play into the evening cause my mother's visiting. Though, better she visits THIS week before the 1UP Cup then DURING it... I'll mail if you guys are on. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() { :: ~ Air - the 1000th Summer ~ :: } :: That sea went on forever, into the blue distance :: * That road went on forever, continuing straight ahead * ~ : Summer comes again, shining silver : ~ : When I close my eyes, suddenly I can see that day's blue sky : |

I will be on tomrrow with my boyfriend and his buddies at around evening time Western time. Though we will be using our own vent server, if you wanna join in during then, I will ask if I can give out the server info tomrrow.
Since the bill is so freaking huge I have to cut down play time and episode downloads... Right when most of the shows are starting again too... I hate Telstra.... They have a upload/download limit to your broadband connection. The higher the limit, the more you pay, and if you go over the limit (which I did,) they start charging you per MB. Also, they will slow down your connection speed to dial up. Australia's telecommunications is this fucked up. You don't know anything about it cause you live in another country. Just about every other country don't have this BS with their broadband service EXCEPT Australia. I know cause I lived in Hong Kong and LA, and naturally this would never have been an issue if I was still living there. And its not even cause they're behind in the tech, I heard they have the tech recently to make this alot cheaper for people, but they don't want to implement it cause they KNOW they can leech more money off people. So now I have to actually budget how much I download per month. I can't wait till I head back to LA next year and don't have to deal with this crap. Don't you think after several monthes of being on PSU, along with downloading various things on torrents, not to mention uploading, that I would know the difference between dial up, broadband, and a fucking A-hole of a company that's dicking its consumers around? I had broadband for years now, for god's sake. Don't patronise me. I tried playing with Lukage today to see how bad the fucking ISP has affected how the game runs. If I managed to load into a mission, it actually comes out pretty ok. Its only a problem when I load between universes, on the mission counter, or heading back to my room. I would probably avoid joing missions like Her Secret Mission, where if you D/C you screw everyone else, untill this whole thing blows over, which could take a month. Thank god my boyfriend can help level my chars a bit and S rank hunt. EDIT:Internet is back up to speed, so this was a case of Telstra's unreliable connection speed as oppose to the penalty BS. Thank god, 1UP cup, I can still join in! (Unless Telstra fucks up again.) You can't play PSU with a dial connection, and if I was, you would have noticed major lags in chats or missions, and I would have defintly disconnected several times. So, no need for me to explicitly state what connection I have, observing a little would have been conclusive enough.
That said, sorry I overeacted, just the way you posted seem to indicated that I know nothing about broadband or the internet, when every online MMO, including PSU, needs it. Well, connection is back to normal at least... Hopefully if things go well, I can move back to LA with my boyfriend by May or June. Still got that large bill to pay off though... Its around 2500 US dollars. Ouch, you missed it when they had a firework trap that was only 30 meseta, and it upped ranged by +10 each time you feed one. It was during a special Neudiaz lobby. Bascially, all it needs is for you to do Her Secret Mission and S it 3 times to get enough meseta for a range PM, and by constantly feeding it every 12 hours, it will only take you 5 days.
Oh, and you can hold 30 of them each time. Yeah, they're sweet. Just about everyone who played back then immediatly ate it up and made a range 100 pure PM. Including me and my boyfriend, and even his roomate. Not all is lost, I noticed another firework trap when I played the JP AoI Timeshare account. I dunno if its there permanetly or just for a while, but it at least means you have another shot at making a range PM cheap. Not to mention when AoI comes out, you get ALOT more meseta from missions. And I panicked at the "fed to my PM" thing cause I thought they were 9* weapons. I would never dump 9* to my PM, even if it is non elemental. :P Official PSU site is updated, note that unlike the Japanese who got 5 weeks of Famitsu cup, we will only get it for 4 weeks. (We are assuming.) First week will be a combo of Parum and Moatoob missions, instead of just one planet. This was probably done to not clash with AoI's release, which is said by various retails AND the GMs to be Nov 20th. Yes, people were able to get into the HALLWAY to the club.
No, it doesn't affect 1UP at all. So calm down fellas. Yeesh. Sega deserves some bashing in certain aspects, but this is not one of them.
Search results for phantasy star universe - Mininova A CD key DOES matter, since it means you MUST buy the actual game AND have the subscription. PC Games with CD keys won't even let you install unless you have the key on the box, and the servers can probably check for your CD key too. PSU doesn't have one, hence why people who get the PC version just download it for free, so all they needed was to pay 10 bucks a month. Japanese AoI doesn't have CD key. I know cause I did the AoI JP account time share on PSO World, downloaded the game and everything. No CD Key.
I don't see any reason why they wanna bother with CD keys in the US when they won't bother for their JP 'higher population' audience. I mean c'mon, Sega US is notorious for being lazy with PSU. CD keys are probably more trouble than its worth. There's nowhere I can't reach.
Huh, weird. Mine didnt need CD key to install.
And my point was more like if Sega is too lazy to implement CD keys for the JP server, then to them its more trouble than its worth for the US servers. I was jabbing at their laziness to do anything remotly intelligent rather than saying "CD keys are worthless". 1UP Cup Mission walkthroughs! (Part 1) Parum: Invisible Road Block A: -Turn your sound way up for this. The first choice you make, is which warp to take. The shortest route will be the warp that makes a sound. The other warp will lead you to a detour that you can use to add to your kill score. But whichever warp you take (since one will lead you back here anyway), REMEMBER which warp made the sound! Block B: -The container is random, 4 possible results. Key, Key with Vahra, Vahra, and air. Even though its theoretically faster to just skip this part entirely, SHOOT the container! You'll see why in a moment. -The next choice is 4 warps, one behind a lock. The reason why I made you shoot the container before: a flower will spawn next to one of the warps. If you did not shoot the container before it, it will not appear. -Each warp has a destination to take you, and this depends on where the flower is. Taking the warp with the flower wil lead you to the mid length route. Taking the warp right of the one with the flower takes you to the "Mysterious path", which is the longest route. And the one left of the flower is the same as taking the one behind the lock (the short route). Whatever route you take, Make sure before you leave this block you get the chip hidden in a tree in the indent to the side. (It's in the last room, so no matter what warp you take, you can get it) Block C: -Remember the warp you took from Block A to get to Block B? The route you take depends on that earlier event, and the enemies you kill here. If you went left, Killing the Badiras opens the far path. Skipping the badiras and killing the vahras makes the key appear by the gate. If you went right, its the opposite, Vahras for the far gate, Badiras for the close gate. -Getting the chip: At the fork after you get an NPC to join you (or in some cases not) means stopping by the left side first and noting what spawns there. This includes enemy status (sword, shiled, king). Afterwards head to the right side and kill ONLY the monster in the pair that spawn, that you saw on the left. In the event that a monster spawns but the status does not match, look for the closest answer, and kill it anyway (ex. you saw a sword vahra, but there's only a vahra and a badira on the right; kill the vahra anyway). Repeat 3 times to get the chip. -Corollary to the above: if your NPC is Remillia, skip the left side, its a waste of time unless you need the kills. On the right side, kill everything that's not a Koltoba for the chip. Block D: -Depending on your party structure and when you left Block C, you will be randomly split up into 2 groups with 2 different spawn points. Or in the case of a solo run, you will end up in the large room. -In the first room of each side, there wil be a mix of 2 monsters that spawn. Killing a certain set makes the gate open faster, killing the other set spawns more monsters. What you kill once again depends on the warp you took way back in A. If you went left, kill the Volffu. If you went right, kill the Golmoro. -The next choice you make, is the 2 switches. This happens on both sides, but are completely opposite from each other. If you're in the path that starts with the big room, the warp you took in A will be the switch you press. (If you went left, you press the left switch, likewise for right). Pressing the wrong switch warps you back one room, and spawns more monsters. In the other path (not seen when soloing), the square room, if you went left, you press right and vice-versa. The wrong switch has a bomb. -In the room with the 5 boxes, if you went left warp on A, The chip will be in the Southeast box. If you went right, it will be in the Southwest box. Also, if you took the right warp, the middle large box will be safe to break. It will spawn 4 smaller boxes. If you went left, its got a svaltus. Regardless of Difficulty chosen, in order to score a perfect 10, you need to clear this in under 20 minutes (5 points), you need 81 or more kills (2 points) and all 3 chips (3 points). So after getting that 10 on that rank, if you choose to speedrun it for quick bonus access, run the short routes and don't miss a single chip. That will get you the 8 points you need for S. IF there's still a big demand for the other trials, I'll get around to posting mini-guides for them all as well. Stay Tuned! Moatoob: United Front Warning: If you aren't in a full party, BRING FREEZE TRAPS! Block 1: -When you reach the first locked door that needs to be opened by a switch, run along the right side of the pit to avoid all 3 traps, press the switch to open the door. Not a glitch, and also a recommendation, have your force or RA in party stand at the door that you just opened. Even though the door is timed for 20 seconds, as long as someone is there to keep it open, it will not close and lock. -In the last room, there is a warp, which you need to split your party up to access. Upon taking the warp, there is a destructible wall BEHIND you. Break it for the chip. -In the same area, you can scan the containers to see which are trapped and which has the key. but since it never changes, its the Upper left container that has the key. Block 2: -IMPORTANT! Pay attention to where you found your keys. After opening the 2 key gate, there will be another batch of enemies to spawn where you found key 1. If you have a ranger, ignore that mob. I'll explain why later. -The order for the switches when you hit the 3 laser fences is Left > Middle > right. Pretty simple isn't it? -Upon entering the last room, immediately turn to your left, and scan the rock. This leads to another chip. -Remember the mob you skipped if you have a ranger class? You can snipe them all with a rifle or a bow from the last room. This saves you a LOT of time, which is something you need if you are to score a 10. Block 3: -Rather run of the mill, split-your-party-and-grab-the-keys deal. Ignore the press switches you run across, they serve no purpose other than to make your life miserable with popup traps and turrets. Note the fake wall at the end of the right fork for a light switch. Make sure you press that switch! There will be a rapcha spawn from enabling the lights! -At the friendchecker, it's important to note that ONLY *2* people will be involved in this. The leader, and the character the game randomly selects. The others (if you have any others) are free to run ahead and play enforcer. -The 2 who are selected at the test should take all the time they need. Don't rush this, the indicator has 4 color warnings from blue to red. If it turns red, you fail. Additionally, the 2 people selected shouldbe moving towards the finish point at all times, do NOT attempt to fight anything, let your partners deal with it. Bil de Bear is here, and one punch is all it takes for you to fail this if you aren't next to a wall. If they get to the finish point before you can clean out the monsters, head for the finish point as well. Then double back and pick off the remains. -In the case of a 2 person party, or if you are unable to clear the enemies before your pair gets to the monsters, drop a freeze trap to let them pass. OR hope one of you is a cast with a charged SUV. -Upon finishing the friendchecker SUCCESSFULLY, there is a warp to your immediate left. Don't miss this, as it is easy to pass by. This warp contains the last chip. Moatoob is by far the hardest of the 4 trials. Even though I mentioned GColony as the hardest as well, this one tests skill, that one tests sheer luck. Your goal for Moatoob to score a 10 is as follows: Time taken: no more than 22 minutes ( 5 points) Enemies killed: At least 93 (2 points) Chips: 3 (3 point) Sources: PSO-World.com Forums - Quick and dirty guide for Crossreview/1UP Cup Parum: Invisible Road PSO-World.com Forums - Quick and Dirty Guide for Crossreview/1Up Cup Moatoob: United Front This thing is sticky, and I don't like it.
