Heh, I should say it is hard to get around a metropolis if all the roads were replaced by old fashioned railways; speaking in a real life situation of course

.
Oh yeah one last thing you should keep in mind when going for a megalopolis (without cheating.) Is to "stack" your zones. Especially your commercial zones.
Stacking involves bulldozing individual houses on a residential zone then placing a commercial zone inbetween the empty spaces (the residential zones should be one space apart to do this.) Then once the commercial zone is developed bulldoze the R zone completely leaving a mini-commercial zone.
Maybe a diagram will explain this better:

Now, bulldoze a row of houses on each.

Build new zone (in this example I'll use a commercial zone, I'll just use C's to fill in the space it takes up.)

Now, bulldoze original residential zones after commercial zone develops.

Now you have a commercial zone that takes up 1/3 of the space.

As you can see, doing this will take alot of time if done on a larger scale. But if you're patient enough its a sure way of getting a megalopolis

There's nowhere I can't reach.
