Not sure if you've been reading my journal lately but I'm out looking for one too. At the moment the "best" 720p lcd I can find in the 900 to 1100 dollar range are what Samsung sells. In particular there's a good chance I'll buy this one.
Unless of course I decide to cave and save up for the 40 inch variant that can support 1080p resolution. In either case, those Samsungs seem to be ideal for gaming. My other choice would be Sharp's Aquos 32 inch lcds. It seems to have better specs and Sears (well the one in this town) sells them for even less than the Samsung lcds. Though I haven't done much technical reading about them yet. So I wouldn't know about any hidden flaws. Jam it back in, in the dark.
