Gamingforce Pokémon D/P Round Robin Tournament
Welcome to Gamingforce's first Pokemon tournament!
This thread is only for the discussion of anything relating to this event. So if you have a question about what kind of team you should use please bring it to this thread. Got it? Good! Now this tournament will probably take a few With that in mind I hope to post results and future brackets every 3 days or so. If we're faster than this then I'll pick up the pace, simple. If you know a better way to handle this or want to help with this section, I'm all ears! Player's teams/movesets will be posted by noon sunday or whenever I receive that info from all the players. Jam it back in, in the dark.

The point system will still be even for everyone. The only down side now is that each of us will not get to play in every round.
I would expect more ties so if anything the top 3 (maybe 4) will have a single elimination match after the round robin. How ya doing, buddy? |

If it's alright with IC you can redo your match with the proper hold items. You have time~ Elmoogle didn't reply back to my PM so I assume he's still out. I was speaking idiomatically. |

Just updated the scoring bracket. I assume Chaotic and IC are redoing their second match.

Round 2 has been added. Me and Elmoogle still need to do one more match then I'll move on to round 2 to fight Chaotic.

Damn, Elmoogle's team is crazy fierce.
I don't want to give away his battle strategy but whatever you do look out for his Weavile! Damn thing demolished half my team over... and over >:U. Still that had to be one of the best series of matches I ever encountered. The scoring reflected that pretty well too, I think. Anyway, round 1 is complete and no updates were added to round 2. Jam it back in, in the dark. |

It even took down my Dragonite  . Oh well it was a slow but nonetheless awesome match. Here's the updated info for round 2 to satisfy anyone's curiosity. I'll be back to bust a cap in our second match, C-Unit. Aight?  There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Wow talk about a come back victory for Chaotic. You totally beat me to the ground ;_;.
I have no excuses though and yes, that was a good match. An unexpected loss but I can live with that! Updated the brackets one last time before I go to bed. Just waiting on Crash and ^-^ to do their round 2 match. If they're not done by tomorrow evening (my time) I'll go ahead and add in round 3 into the mix.
.This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well that sucks I lost AGAIN!
Rua's team is scary, I'll give him that. Except for his Aerodactyl, it was really the only poke that was a pushover ._. Alright, I've updated the charts. Not a lot has changed but it's still nice to see new numbers. Oh yeah, people please don't forfeit your battles. It's not exactly the most encouraging to thing to see. If you don't have time or don't feel too good then just postpone the match until later. No harm in doing that, I'm prepared for that. Also bear in mind forfeiting a battle means you automatically gain 6 KOs to your stats. On top of giving the point to your opponent. Doing this too often will not only kill any chance of the forfeiting player to play in the finals~ But it will throw off the tiebreaking decision when the points are tallied. Just something you guys should consider. If there is anything I hate seeing it's a player giving up during a good match. I was speaking idiomatically.

Still waiting on Elmoogle and Chaotic to finish up their round 4 match. But I've decided to end the waiting and put up round 5. Also, here's a update of the available brackets.
IC, I'll PM you for our match some time on saturday. I'm pretty busy this weekend so if anything expect a late night battle. Oh and if you can't make that either just let me know. How ya doing, buddy? |

I'm doing my damn best in running this tournament but ultimately it's up to the players involved to make it happen. Do you honestly think I can force players to do their matches to make things move faster? Yes I probably could've had this tournament done within a week or less. People have lives, timezones are a bit in the way for some of us but we're moving. This isn't the hardcore Smogon community (or whatever they're called) so go there for your tournament fix. You sound like you need it. The last thing I need is a person that signed up just to bitch infront everyone in this thread. ------ On a side note me and IC completed our match last evening. I may have lost but that match was awesome .Jam it back in, in the dark.

And we only had 2 more rounds to go . Welp, we can finish off this tournament if you guys want. Here's what the next two rounds (rounds 6 and 7) should have looked like. So basically we're down to three matches altogether: Crash Landon VS. Chaotic Crash Landon VS. Kairyu Chaotic VS. ^-^ After that, I'll add up the points and death toll~ then I suppose we can call it quits  .With only 5 of us remaining I see little reason to finish off any ties through a single elimination match. I still want to brainstorm/attempt at another and hopefully less lengthy tournament! There's nowhere I can't reach. |

My personal high point of the match was freezing two of his pokemon with Ice Beam and having Quick Claw work just in time .As for this tournament there isn't much left to do. I'll tally the scores and update the score page once I finish battling Crash~ After that, I think we're done. I'm open to ideas for the next one provided we have more players interested in playing. edit: Crash and I will do our next battle on Sunday so I've updated the scores a bit. I did learn one thing in all this, do not use round robin as the tournament format (Swiss or single elimination works MUCH better and faster.) Edit: If you want to see point details, go here. I swore I had the match in the bag the way Equinox was regulating the battle. Calm Minded at least twice and it burned everything in sight. Yet it dies from a critical hit move ._. I was speaking idiomatically. |
