Honestly I never given much thought to Jan-Ken-Pon as I always believed it had more to do with luck than messing with your opponent's head. This link makes the strategy of the game look more like chess. I'm gonna try these two-level feints the next time I'm caught up in a Jan-Ken-Pon match.

I can't see myself using that version any time soon. Far too much thinking involved followed by looking at a chart for reference (when we figure out the guy was throwing tree and not rock.)
