Nope!
At least I haven't figured out a way yet. I just *slowly* trade for Pokemon I haven't seen or transfer them from my FR/Sapphire cart. The only quick way I know of would be to use a Action Replay or something.

I was speaking idiomatically.

oh man, I don't think I've turned on my ds for at least a month .

Bungie got me back into playing halo and you know how time consuming that can be. Last thing I remember doing in pokemon pearl was playing for the 100 win streak at the battle tower. I think I'm at 20-something, so yeah not bad.

Despite that, I'll probably pick up the pace again since I can't ever get tired of a game like that.

Additional Spam:
I still need one of those devices that allow you to make an Electivire. I don't own FireRed, so I can't steal them.
haha, oh yeah I forgot about that xD

Like I said, the catch rate of that item in pokemon pearl is less than 5%. I'd definitely like to help you out but I lack a AR.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

FC: 1246-5201-4026 (Pearl)

I still have my game somewhere, haven't so much as touched it since January. So! I wouldn't mind a few battles if that's what you want =D
Be aware my team's levels are somewhere in the 80 to 100 range. But I don't think that will matter if we stick to the 50 or 100 level modes.

All this downtime at the SSBB threads makes me want to start a random Pokemon D/P tournament. What do you guys think?

Well, my team's only in the 50-60s range right now, and some of their moves are less desirable. So right now I'm trying to figure out my team and maybe do some trading and grinding before I give some actual battles a try. (My Kadabra cries himself to sleep every night because he can't evolve. )

FC: 3007-8067-3064

I do have a couple of (stupid?) questions, since I haven't been into this franchise since Blue:

1. Is there even such a thing as just a straight battle of 6 on 6 with the levels and such unchanged anymore?

2. I noticed you can only seem to offer/search over Nintendo WFC for Pokemon within D/P only. So if I want to get [insert Pokemon here] that you can only get by importing them from the GBA games, would I have to get the games myself, or could I get [x Pokemon] through a trade with a friend who has them?
To answer your questions:
1. Battle with levels unchanged? Yeah, I forget the choices exactly but you can choose between lv.50, lv.100 and free battle. There are also options to have single or double battles.

2. Actually GTS only allows you to trade pokemon that you've seen in your game. I believe it was setup that way to make it "difficult" to shortcut your way into getting pokemon outside the the current region. Personally I don't really use it, I think it's easier just to contact a friend and trade for the pokemon you want.

Too slow! That's what I get for walking off for 15 mins

Sorry if I left out anything, I'm kinda on my way out over here. But if you want to trade stuff I'm sure I (or anyone here) can help you there. I hear Crash Landon still plays as well, so he may have everything you're looking for =D

Yeah, that's roughly my playing schedule as well. If anything we'll keep the tournament playing days on weekends only or something =o

I'd participate, but I doubt I would be very serious in competing. Mostly Underused guys, I'd think.
Oh I've learned from the past two tournaments here that making a "serious and complicated" battlefield isn't the best course. What I was thinking is maybe we hold mini-tournaments once every two weeks. No real rules aside from common courtesy, you know, just casual play among members. Sounds fun to me.
You can even make a whole team composed of magikarp and Luvdiscs for all I care!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Just going from memory here~ but Beldum can't learn Magnet Rise until it evolves (at level 20 I think.) Once it does you can take it to the move tutor and learn Magnet Rise that way.

They'd still form a strategy against me fairly easy when they see the majority of my choices are Poison Pokemon.

How'd you guys do a tournament? Over Wifi?
Well it would be best to use pokemon of various types, then. My main weakness was using the ever common dual dragon types. A third of my team was made of them. It was safe to say most players can guess what's most effective against me. O bias u .

As for how one can do a tournament? Here in gamingforce it'd have to be done through wifi. Anyway, now that finals is pretty much out of the way I suppose I can push for a more "casual" tournament. I'll create a thread with a rules set some time tomorrow. I'm just way too trashed to do anything right now.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh? I like the single type (or pokemon) theme. It could give us a reason not to include the usual crazy strong pokemon we're all used to seeing. Ah, well I'll sleep on it.

(And Crash, don't let me stop you from taking charge of this tournament. I really don't mind!)

I completely forgot about that game's feature. Good thing I didn't sell it off =D
If Pokemon Battle Revolution has any redeeming qualities I should also mention it is a bit more stable for online battles. At least it is to me!

Personally, I don't like to use moves that have less than 10pp and lowers the attacking pokemon's stats. Too much shit can go wrong with that kind of limitation. It's more useful as a last resort than anything else. It is powerful, no denying that. Just expect to miss at least once with a move that has a 90% hit rate. I say keep EQ =o
But if you're having that much of an issue with Skarms I would probably start using electric types or at least Electric/Fire type moves.

On another note I've setup a tourney thread =D
Right overhere. Everyone is encouraged to join, post, ask questions, the usual!

Oh yeah, I second the idea of a single-type theme for a tournament. Just dunno what type I'd use, lol.
Are you talking about the tournament I just setup? You don't actually get a choice in types, it's all luck of the draw. But if you want to play just say so and I'll put you in. I just closed signs up already so the last person has their type chosen.

Considering it was a test match to see if your connection held up. Which it did! I like how my Spinda actually managed to flail its way to nearly two KOs .

Just captured my first Shiny Pokemon while EV training my SP ATK - A Shiny Gastly, which is exactly what I said I was looking for in one of my last posts in this thread. Heh, I was watching TV and playing at the same time, so I'm lucky I was looking at the screen at the time. Also lucky it was a low level, which only took about 4 or 5 Ultra Balls. I kinda wish it were red or something since it doesn't look too noticable, but oh well.

Which also brings up a few questions:
1. Is there a list out there that tells what colors each shiny pokemon is like? I know Wikipedia used to have it before they merged all of the Pokemon onto single pages.

2. How would one go about getting shiny Charmanders, Squirtles, etc if they're all starter Pokemon and not wild? I just saw a pic of a Shiny Charizard, and I want it.

3. Similar to #2, how would one go about getting something such as a Shiny Ho-Oh or Mewtwo? Constantly walking up to it and starting the battle, or is it determined whether it be shiny or not the moment you first start your file?
Oh wow, cool =O

1. No list as far as I know but going to any pokemon fan site that has a pokedex section will tell you that info. Marriland.com and Serebii.net are usually my top choices for pokemon info in general.

2. I don't think you can unless you hatch it from eggs over 5000 times. Or whatever the odds of running into one is.

3. Yep, I hear you can eventually run into a shiny version of them by repeatedly walking up to them (and resetting if it's not shiny.) Otherwise most sane people just use a AR to get shiny legendary pokemon. No one's gonna believe you caught a shiny version of Dialga anyway .

I have a Porygon that needs some evolving done. XD

I have both the Up-Grade and the Dubious Disc, I just need someone with some free time to do a couple of trades. Let me know if you're up for it, anybody.
I got time to do some evolution trading =D.

So, I'm kinda regretting evolving my Pikachu into Raichu when I learned Pikachu can have a Light Ball, which doubles its Special Attack. Is that not insane? Here's a question. Does it double SP ATK even if the SP ATK is already at its max (255)?

EDIT: And another question. Let's say Articuno is holding Macho Brace (item which doubles EVs gained) and Raichu is holding EXP Share and I kill a Haunter, which gives 2 SP ATK EVs. Because of Macho Brace, Haunter gets 4 EVs. How about Raichu? Does it also gained 4 EVs or just 2?
About the Light Ball question. I'm pretty sure it'll double, since it is a in-battle effect from the hold item.

And the second question. I believe the exp share will only pass on the default amount. That means no bonuses from the fighting pokemon's hold item.

Nevermind, I'm actually not sure at all.
Actually. According to the EV training guide, it does pass on EVs. That's what I use them for =o.

A: The answer is no. Both pokemon will get the same amount of EVs. The full
amount. The end. Wait, one more thing. Bonuses from POKERUS and the items
won't be passed on. The pokemon will be getting the normal amount it would.
Unless of course, IT has POKERUS. But it still can't hold the item, because it
is holding the Exp. Share.

Hold on, I'm a little confused by what you're saying in regards to your special attack stat. Are you speaking in EVs or actual stat points the pokemon displays in its profile?

I ask because you're talking about how you're gaining 3 Special Attack EVs per level and you'll hit the EV ceiling before reaching level 100. Normally, I'd say that's a good thing =p. If you're worried about gaining too much experience then I might suggest fighting low level pokemon that still give you the EVs you want.

Now, if you're trying to gain experience without gaining EVs the only other way to do that is to use EV reducing berries while fighting extremely high level pokemon. Though it would be easier to do that with a X amount of Rare Candies.

I'm like the complete opposite. My work place, which is full of adults, see me in the breakroom playing Pokemon all the time. None of them make fun of me or anything. In fact, one of the girls commented on it and said she thinks pikachu is cute. I guess I'm not ashamed of playing games like this in public.

The only person who makes fun of me is my boss. But for some reason she thinks anything by Nintendo is aimed at kids. Like, when my early copy of Brawl arrived I was running around the office with it bragging that I had a copy of the game before the street date. She told me to grow up and play an adult system like the 360.
I'm the same way at my workplace. Most of us actually grew up playing the same games, even our boss plays. Namely stuff like Tetris Attack, Super Mario Kart, Street Fighter II and various rpgs.
Nothing like owning your superiors in a vicious game of Mario Kart. But they make up for it by kicking my ass in Street Fighter II on any day of the week.

To tell you the truth the only time I'm made fun of in games is when I play Halo. Most of my friends around here aren't particularly good at FPS games. So, when they get an actual "kill" on me they're allowed to point and laugh for a week straight D:
As for Pokemon? Well to us, it's just another rpg that includes multiplayer battles. Which is a badass concept the more I think about it.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Is there any Move Deleter in Diamond/Pearl? I seem to have misplaced my Ruby, so that kinda sucks. I dislike how many of the HMs in games are so useless, and can't be forgotton.
Indeed there is.
The Move Deleter in Pokemon D/P is in Canalave City. Located directly north of the city's poke mart.
