Cookies: The Eternal Question - Crunchy or Chewy?

I can't think of a time I would pick a crunchy cookie over a chewy one. So yeah, I'm with the crowd on this one.
A freshly oven-baked chewy cookie doesn't get much better than that.

Reading this thread makes me think; if so many people prefer chewy over crunchy, why are chewie cookies harder to find in stores (at least for me)?

I think its the relatively shorter shelf life of chewy cookies. So most stores tends to not carry as much. Then there are people like us who will buy said cookies, thus making them harder to find than your standard crunchy cookie.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
