Just an FYI to any of you thinking buying the Mitsuru figure off play-asia or any other import site. Come late September, its gonna be available in US and for $30-$34 to boot. [According to Diamond] Tfaw has already started preorders.

How ya doing, buddy?

My favorite review for the game so far. No scores though but a nice read =P

Persona 3 officially shipping August 14th. I think anyone who cares about the artbook at this point would rather import the official design works...*sigh*.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Is this deluxe package the only package available? I just wanna make sure before placing an order on Amazon, as it doesn't state what edition it sells.
Yes. Every copy of the game comes with artbook, cd and the special packaging.

This game looks pretty good, especially those anime scenes. Persona 3 has a stand-alone story, with nothing to do with the other games in the series right? Maybe I'll go pick it up tomorrow, heh, I keep telling myself 'this will be the last PS2 game I'll buy.' Hope its worth it. =x

Odin Sphere could have been better.
Yes, you don't need to have played any of the previous Persona or MegaTen games to understand the story.

Okay kids! School officially starts today! All your local GS/EBs should have them and if you pre-ordered, you should have gotten one of those lame phone messages by now.

I get mine today. Tracker says it's en route <3

Oddly enough, it arrived here in Houston, and it's going elsewhere, THEN being delivered back to me o_o I won't ask questions... Just gotta find out when UPS drops by the office here.
Same. It's already out for delivery, though UPS usually doesn't drop things off till 4-7ish.

Spoiler:
lmaonade, says Maya

Enjoying the game more than R&D1's other shit. The big helper is no random battles. It makes the game way more enjoyable. I'm pretty far right now so I guess that's proof of my addiction.
Same here. Just called it quits for the day and my current play time is 11 hrs, 32 mins. Fucking love it, easily one of my favorite battle systems too.

I haven't been spending much time with the MMO but some of the dialog from it is insane. LMAONADE.

It gets a lot better the farther you progress in the game. I just did went up 12 floors (boss progression is like every 10 floors now it seems...) and none of my character got fatigued.

As I said, fatigue becomes a slight non issue later on, you'll go through many floors before a party member gets tired. Also, you don't lose Personas "permanently" when you fuse them. I forgot what month, either the second or so, you get the compendium and you can "record" the ones you have on you, with all their skills etc and buy them back at a later date. Orpheus, your main persona comes with the book If I remember correctly.

See, I'm just afraid of screwing up with the fusing system. Like losing skills that are absolutely crucial to defeating certain enemies. To me it just seems particularly dangerous, especially with the tactical combat system. That's the main reason I haven't bothered with fusing yet, although I guess I'm supposed to by now.

Can you reacquire Personas with the cards you get after a battle? I know that if you already have one they don't stack up. But what happens when you receive a Persona card of a Persona you've already fused into a new one?
I don't think you should wait. The only real skills you should be worried about at that point are dia, agi and bufu and whatever you fuse at that point will have one or more of those and the floors you're gonna be exploring should have personas with em during the card shuffle. Also, F25 boss or so is when You're gonna start fusing to exploit boss weakness/strengths

I was speaking idiomatically.

I've only had a problem with that once, when Junpei stayed sick for 3 days. Otherwise they've recovered pretty quickly for me, so it must be mostly in your luck.

You get the fourth character as soon as exam week is over. The study week before exams was really dull and you typically couldn't go into Tartarus because people are busy.
Pretty much what he said. Trying to get done what you need to before exam week and the week before it since a lot of your party members will be out studying or sick.

A game like this should make use of the PS2's soft reset feature, come to think of it most games I bought in the past two years don't even use that anymore, wonder why? I can't be the only one who keeps reloading to try different choices.. >_>

Anyway, regarding the Strength and Chariot social links:
Spoiler:
I'm only interested in Yuko, the team manager. Going to swim practice after school has nothing to do with her right?
Spoiler:
If you want to get close to her, get the chariot s.link to rank 2 or so then you should see her in the school lobby on practice days, talk to her ask her if you can walk home together, if she says yes, take it from there. If she says no, keep trying on other days until she says it or raise your chariot rank.

If you're stuck at a deadline, just bring lots of revival items and grind it out the night before the full moon (it'll have a 1 by the moon icon in the upper-right). You NEVER get fatigued.

Mobs have, like, 200° of visual range, whereas gold ones have 300°, I've read. For golds, you have to sit back and watch. I ONLY approach them if I'm following their path precisely. You have to be pretty meticulous and nail them in the back. As a plus, after doing this for a while, you get pretty good about sneaking up on mobs in a timely fashion so you can get a player advantage.

Once in battle, don't waste turns. Order your allies to conserve SP so they will definitely attack. Any magic comes up as "blocked" and does nothing. Their weakness is supposedly random, but I noticed that in the first block, it always seemed to be piercing (bow) that hurt them. Second block I ran in to a couple and it seemed the main character's one-handed sword attacks were their weakness. Maybe just luck of the draw...
It's luck of the draw, It's always a physical type from what I've read though. What I do is hit rush on the attack button so everyone just does their physical attack.

How do you recommend taking down the Emperor boss on 2nd Block, past midway? He uses wind stuff and hits two-timers pretty often D= I'm around lev 21 and don't wanna try again quite yet. He's the second boss in the 2nd half. Big horseback dude.
Just luck out. I won it through straight out attrition. I was doing most of the healing, Yukari on support and Akihiko was the only one doing any real damage so I just concentrated on keeping him and myself alive and eventually we won out. Goes without saying but bring a persona that's strong/nulls garu skills.

^ Really? I killed her on my first go at her and encountered no problems whatsoever..maybe you're underleveled?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Aye thanks.

And anyone who read that whole 3rd block thing I said on the last page, I didn't realize I was still on the 2nd block. <_<

I assumed every huge staircase with a document went to another block. XP

Anyway, I should remember to use tactics in battles... I completely forgot about them.

Also has anyone noticed the typo on the Persona 3 box? The game calls for 67 MB to save one file on the game.

67 MB.
Yea, I noticed the typo too lol.

d up FES. So GAF, do I finish my copy of Persona 3? (I'm about half a year in) or just start all over in FES' The Journey? I have the double jump guide but that's pretty much useless now and i was enjoying using it a long with the original game.
