That's because you don't have to pay for the "onboard computer" that handles shifting in an automatic since you're doing it yourself in a manual.
Now that I've finally gotten the hang of using a manual, I can't quite see the advantage of an automatic unless you're doing like a million things at a time while you drive (you really shouldn't do that anyways, I hate people who don't pay attention to the road). Plus, faster acceleration <3.
There's nowhere I can't reach.
