Thanks Phatcorn and Godai for the info
But what does Flicker Filter do?

As for the cash-in Gil looting method, it makes the whole thing much harder doesn't it? This method just reminds me of most MMORPG game system where only humanoids drop currency and other trash mobs drop items for garage sell

Is it true that most Jap shops already have them in their storage? Coz one friend from Jap messaged me that his shop just got them this arvo and he already started playing it *cries* So unfair...

So does that apply to like online shipping companies like yesasia.com? Because normally when I pre-order games on yesasia, most of the time they tend to get here 1 day earlier... so thats why I was expecting my copy to arrive at 15th March... but i guess since the SE-Ninjas are on the loose I might be getting mine on the day or one day late >_<

The easiest way around it is just to use AppLocal to change the regional setting, and so that you can open and play Jap games

EDIT: As for .lzh it is just one of another preferred Japanese compressing type. Most zip programs can open them~

As for that Wiki, if you don't want to get spoiled dont see it, coz SigelX will translate most of the FMV dialogues and event dialogues.

I am quite happy about the levelling up system, 'grid system' it works beautifully~ To the point that you just want to save up all your LPs so you can get the skills you want ^ ^

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Without spoiling too much izzit?
Well I guess you could say that its Hume vs Hume kinda story where most politicials has their own ideal world they wanted to create, typical FF theme.

Evil person controls the most powerful person -> Powerful person did bad things -> bad things lead to war -> war makes ppl sad and angry -> Sadness and anger fused revenge -> Add some touchy feely bits in it and some surprising elements -> FFXII in a nutshell

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Nope it's not shaking when hit. I'm plying right now and even when T-Rex hit you it's not shaking.
Okay, to clear up, the shaking mostly comes from the summons (well it does for me anyway) or some events that contains explosion where the blur effect comes in!

How to change part leader? I just died and could select one of living member as a leader and now I'm walking with Penelo and 2nd is Vaan.
Spoiler:
If my memory serves correctly you can change the order of leader by going in to menu-> character status -> change order and select the order. Need to confirm this one I get home!

Is it just me or dagger attack it about 1/3 way faster then attack with sword? Penelo is using dagger and Vaan is using sword and I have to say that she attack like 1/3 faster then me.
Spoiler:
Umm isn't that quite normal for a RPG? Dagger wielding character are suppose to atk faster due to lightness and the light damage of the weapon. So to balance out, they need to atk faster! However, staffs attks slower so i am not sure why it is included as a potential weapon.

@Spatula: As Simo said, the weather effect is indeed implemented. About the clothing, i have not really paid attention to it. However all i know is that once you change weapon, gears and other stuff... you character 'may' change appearences (clothing, battle style, movements). Doesn't happend all the time, but unique items do change the characters.

As for your 2nd question, you mean like monsters interact with others and the enviroment? if so, no, i havent seen anything like that, only non-monsters NPCs interacts non-verbally and do daily things.

Seems like i haven't been observing much with the enviroments and battle details >_< too focus just on getting the story through

Cool thing is that if you WALK past the enemy without getting sighted, you can get past them easily~ well that depends on the level and aggro range

There are also enemies that can call other enemies to assist them in battle even from far away. >___< So players have to make sure they pull 1 enemy at the time and stay far far away from others. *my first death comes from that factor*

It works really like the FFXI battle system IMO!

Here are many side quest to be done, IF you want to 100% game completion... As it said before about the summons, but also gambit moves, equipments and others...

So I think I might clock this game over 100+ hrs easily with out even getting close to 100% >_< (Still have many summons missing )

Oh! Also my friend had finished the game already, and for those who are wondering about the impact of the ending he said (sic. trans from Japanese) "FFXII is an Epic game, the ending just blowed me away! Luckily I save near the end, coz I want to see it again!" I can't wait until the ending too

Might contain hint for the ending:
EDIT: Later on he tell me something extra "The ending is somewhat expected if you follow the story closely, the twist is somehow expected too, however the story telling style, and the ending presentation was unexpected and it was just utterly beautiful... I WANT MORE! LIKE FFXII-2 ^___^

Heh, I was talking to him on phone just then so I asked him the question you asked! He said that he completed almost ~90% of the game, only the troublesome side quests and a few other optional skills are missed! His clock hits 138 Hrs since the first day release @ 10am until yesterday.

Hmm, don't understand your spoiler's question >_<
My Personal interpretation of your question with answer:
For relationship, you mean what happends to each individual characters at the end? Coz I can't really tell ya with out BIG spoilers

Umm, I think someone requested the English Song Lyrics right?

Well suprisingly enough my Jap friend noted down the lyrics from Jap version. So I thought might as well for me to do the english version

Here I am retyping everything down ^ ^

-----------------------------------
Kiss Me Goodbye - Angela Aki

You say my love is all you need
To see you through
But I know these words are not quite true
Here is a path you're looking for
An open door
Leading the world you long to explore
Go, If you must move on alone
I'm gonna make it on my own

Kiss me Good-bye, Love's Memory
Follow you heart and find your destiny
Don't shed a tear, for loves' mortality
For you put your dream in my reality

As times goes by I know you'll see this of me
I loved enough to let you go free
Go, I will give you wings to fly
Cast all your fears into the sky

Kiss me good-bye, love is mystery
All of my life, I'll hold you close to me
Don't shed a tear, for love's mortality
For you put the dream in my reality

Kiss me good-bye, love's memory
You put the dream in my reality
--------------------------------------

There you have it, exactly as the ending song goes
*cries* such a moving and well composed song in this epic story~~

Double Post:
SORRY FOR DOUBLE POST, but both post seems long~
Lemme have an attempt at answering your question too ^ ^ But forgive me if I don't answer to your expectation and ya, no spoilers here

Hehe you did a wise move, there are spoilers here and there however its not that obvious thou~

Quote:
I also think it's pathetic for anyone who looks up screens or info of the final boss. That's like getting a new book and flipping right to the end. Unless the final boss is one of those last minute creatures like FFIX's Necro, you're ruining the story by jumping ahead like that.
OMG FFIX boss is Necro, aww you ruined it for me >_< *sigh*
But yeah I tried to avoid those spoilers, but my Jap friends love to show off and send me emails even FAX me the pics of their findings... soo unavoidable~!

Quote:
1. Usually in every RPG, there's always one or two characters who unfortunately have to take a backseat when the story picks up, removing any focus or development in their story. Examples include DQVIII's Angelo, FFIX's Freya, Xenogears' Rico, etc. Does the same apply to any of FFXII's characters, or is this a rare case where every character gets a proper amount of development and closure? Considering the small main cast, it shouldn't be too hard to do. But I have a feeling someone like Fran will get forgotten when the story progresses.
Well there is no such RPG game that gives EVERY character an equal importance(development) in the story. Well I haven't play such RPG yet! However in FFXII most characters are developed nicely, background story and relationships are told through out the game. There are a few suprising relationships that just pops out from no where, but we, as a player, will just have to accept the fact >_< As for Fran, she can be said as a minor-importance character, but her history and involvement in the story is not ignored since she plays 2 major parts in the development in this story. Just other characters somehow seems to empowered her interms of plot. Battle-wise... hehe shes da best~

Quote:
2. Speaking of the characters, who's the fan-favorite so far? I've been wondering myself which character I'll end up liking the most. Basch has a deliciously dark story about him, closely resembling FFT's Delita (not evil, but isn't afraid to take evil measures for the greater good). Ashe received a lot of praise in another forum when she was unveiled, in the hopes that she could be "the next Celes." This would be nice, since there hasn't been a lead FF heroine who has emotional depth AND is strong enough to take care of herself since Tifa. I really dig Penelo's design though, since it's cute. Plus I like how she and Vaan are already a couple before the game starts (hasn't been done since FFIV's Cecil and Rosa).
My personal fav would be Basch so far, because of his background, VA, character desigh and all other factors. I think i know why Ashe is most ppls fav in the game, but telling you why may spoil it for ya.

Quote:
3. Finally, I wonder how far this FF pushes the envelope. FFT was pretty dark compared to other FF's, including a pretty graphic amount of violence (like the monster who sacrificed himself for the final boss by shoving his own claws into his stomach, releasing a huge gyser of bloodspray), along with other dark themes like betrayal, devil worship, and I think even implications of rape somewhere. How far does FFXII go? I'm hoping Square hasn't interfered with the story because they want to keep things relatively clean (there hasn't been a major death since Aerith, and that took a lot of persuading for them to approve).
Umm, this one is hard to answer, coz i can't really tell your measurement of 'dark'. However, if you are looking for unexpected twists, bribery, betrayl and other typical bad guys theme... well they are what FFXII pretty much revolve around with. But don't jolt your expection too high thou coz this is still Final Fantasy serie so the typical melodramatic scenes still occur.

Quote:
I keep thinking about the shots that have Pennelo tied up while a group of orcs hover above her. Of course I doubt anything would actually happen, but I do wonder if they would at least imply if the orcs would do something to her. That's assuming if they would even want to do something like that to someone who's not from their species.
Well lets just say that Penelo and Vaan are popular with the low class society, and they are like Robin Hood. I will leave the rest for you to imagine I think my implication are stright forward enough *hehe*

How ya doing, buddy?

I am still quite unsure about the use of 'couple' coz in Japanese term they used in the game Vaan referred Penelo as "Childhood friend" but where Penelo said once that their relationship is like "Siblings".

So I guess they are relationship are strong, but probably not to the level of being a 'couple' yet. ^ ^

@Kensaki
Your question answered with a bit of ending spoiler - Read at your own risk -:
This is NOT your normal FF. Even though there are times in the game it hints that Vaan have a strong feeling for Ashe, but that is because Vaan sees Ashe as a strong determined person. At the end both Penelo and Vaan are still together where Ashe went back to claim the country as rightful Queen.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

NO... you'll just teleport around the world map!

Just kidding ^ ^ You can walk around alright!

Regarding the maps system:
The map system is quite similar to Star Ocean 3, where you have to explore to get the full map. Else you will have shrouded/uncovered maps and no enemy datas.
S-E made the map system flexible by allowing players to purchase pre-explored maps at a price equivalent to the difficulty of the location or the rare-lity of the dungeon.
Exploring the map is heap fun too, especially going for treasure hunting!

For me, Yes too!
FFXII is actually now in place with my top fav 3 FFs... actually in #1 spot right now. That might change after playing a few times We will just have to wait and see~

Is there any news on English version of FFXII? are there gonna be any extra contents?

Jam it back in, in the dark.
