Wow, at GameFAQ's? That's quite the sacrafice!
Anyways I myself have no doubt they'll include Revolution controller support if it's released after the Revolution is launched. However the extent of this support is what I'm not sure about... will it just be for the fishing minigame or for something bigger, like Link's sword?
I can't wait for the game regardless.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

That's 'cause it's brighter, maybe they use different packaging?
Anyways, Peer from IGN has some choice things to say about the Wiimote control in the new Zelda... http://blogs.ign.com/Peer-IGN/2006/09/17/31160/
I wholeheartedly agree with him. That control scheme, to put it bluntly, SUCKS. Where the heck did they get the idea that just swinging in any direction was fun OR immersive? EH? Is Shiggy smoking something?

I'm definitely still getting the Wii version, I mean, swinging a controller around, even if it doesn't exactly match the onscreen movements, is still more fun than pressing a button. But damn, I was hoping they would map the controller to the sword. I guess it would take quite a bit of programming to do that, especially since the sword swings in pre-set directions. The hit detection would probably have to be completely recalculated and crap like that.
Argh, it's just that I wanted to show my friends what the Wii could do with a game like Zelda. I guess I could always show them the fishing part... (which looks amazingly cool, especially with the nunchuck reeling-in motions!) or the bow-and-arrow shooting or the grappling hook, etc....

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Haha yeah, you didn't know that? It's really one of the best features, in my opinion, of the new controller. The problem is that the speaker, according to IGN, is about the quality of a hallmark card speaker (you know, the ones that play music). They could've just been using incomplete hardware, so here's hoping the final controllers have better speakers. I also heard that the amount of space allocated in the controller for storage of the sounds is extremely small (like, 92kb's), so that may force developers to use crappy sounds with it. Who knows. I'd love to hear .wav-quality sounds coming out of that thing, but 92kb's of .wav is.... not possible. Eh, now I'm rambling, but you get the point. I guess we'll see in two months (less than two months!).

Well, to tell you the truth, for shooting arrows and such I'd actually rather not have to pull back on the controller every time. Especially when precision aiming (and horseback riding) come into play, to me it makes more sense to just assign a button to loading and firing, and use the Wiimote for aiming. That's more of what I was talking about anyways, the fact that you can use it to aim more precicely.
How did that feel, by the way? Was it jerky or smooth? More difficult to aim?

Edit: However I'm surprised they're not doing anything with the boomerang! That would be so fun to hold up the controller and practice throwing it just right. Darn...

I was speaking idiomatically.

MATT CASSAMASSINA plays 10 hours of Zelda! And barely gets through the 2nd temple in 10 HOURS! He said it'll take like 70 hours to beat it... OMG SO CRAZY. I WANT IT. NOW.

Oh and he says there's absolutely no reason to get the Gamecube version, that it's inferior in EVERY way, including the controls. Take that, Wii-version haters .

It takes the immersion and cranks it up ten-fold, which in return, makes it that much more fun.
QUOTED FOR TRUTH.

Anyone who says the Wii controls are crappy has obviously NEVER tried them before! Next time I hear someone say they prefer button mashing to motion controls, I'm gonna button mash... their head.... in.

Holy monkey feces... that site seriously needs to fire some "reviewers." Saying Perfect Dark Zero is greater than Zelda... I feel physically sick.

I completely agree. The final places at the end of the game were borderline BORING. And I didn't feel any emotion from beating the game, aside from that part in the credits (you know which part). Sure the end of the game is exhilirating, but.... yeah. Oh, and why did Hyrule field, which is supposed to be HUGE, feel smaller than the one in N64? It's because it was sectioned off and split into paths. It wasn't an actual field. I guess that's more realistic, but... it just doesn't feel big at all.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ryunam, I love your sig... well, I love the album that your sig references, but I love the sig as well...
Anyways, yeah, I JUST was able to secure a Wii so I haven't even been able to pick up the new Zelda yet and I would be what you consider a hardcore fan (I already downloaded all of the other Zeldas on the Virtual Console). Granted I've already played the game on a friend's Wii... but have never had the chance to buy it. So I have a feeling that sales of this game will go steady for a while.
