Okay, I've just som trailer on Gametrailers, and damn it was hot. I must say that the Metal Gears near the beginning was a bit disappointing. They looked... not convincing.

Liquid Ocelot? Best name ever. Can't wait to see more of him. The way most of the characters hadn't aged much. (Otacon and Snake excepted)... well, I just liked them.

I'm sorry, this post's gonna be semi coherent, but that's my thoughts on MGS4.
Ninja Raiden came completely by suprise. I doubted Koj' when he said that Raiden would be cool, and great scott, he did it. He looked like Vamp in a ninjasuit... Wow.

Anyways, later guys, I have to touch myself, and when I've calmed down, I believe I can make post somewhat more coherent....;_;

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I think Mobius is right when he's saying that it's not anything like Israel / Palestina. I think that's just too political for old Koj', and anyway, it wouldn't fit with the whole 'War has changed'-speak.

Also, I wonder if the Snake trying to kill himself is Snake at all. We know that Big Boss is featured in some way. (Most'd probably say that he's a corpse, but if Vamp and Liquid can defy death, why not old Naked Snake, eh?) I wouldn't be suprised at all if that's actually Big Boss. Notice his face. It could be a wound Snake got from a battle, or something completely different ( :-o )

How ya doing, buddy?

I can only judge from the small trailer, as I've yet to see the 15 minute one, but I guess playing as Raiden would be any fun... At this point he looks pretty damn invincible. He takes down Gear like only Solidus Snake has done it so far. What fun would that be? Except for the first five minutes, of course...

Anyways, though the Liqiud Ocelot part of the trailer speaks volumes, I'd still like a clever little power struggle between them...
But I guess I can settle for just the knowledge of what he/they did after stealing the Ray.

You mean, a bit like American Beauty, just with less masturbating?

At this time, I wouldn't even hazard a guess. Remember seeing Snake running around Big Shell? And what happened? Koj might pull out just such a twist yet again. Not that you're going to play as Raiden*, but something similar.

*
Spoiler:
But did Koj say anything about NINJA RAIDEN? Nooooooo

Well, Snake was told he was going to die in MGS too, remember?
I'm pretty sure there'll be moments of tongue in cheek. It is Kojima, after all. Not some moody git.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I was also thinking that they'd line a new clone up. The Infant Terrible cloning program must have had some glitches and such they'd be able to fix by now. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's a "new" Snake in the end.

Of course, seeing as Kojima is involved, it's probably a mask, the Octocam or a joke. Or all of the above.

But absolutely amazing trailer. Love it to small bits!

So, hey NEWS for the european gamers out there.
Quote:
Konami has said the European Metal Gear Online beta will run from 21st April to 6th June.

The client will be available to download from 17th April, as Sony told us earlier.

Two of the five maps from the full game will be available to mess around on: Blood Bath and Groznyi Grad.

The former is two-tiered scenario, while the latter is that big (and fantastically named) Shagohod complex from MGS3 that has human catapults to throw you around.

The other three joining these at launch are Ambush Alley with its trenches and sandbags; Midtown Maelstrom with its Middle Eastern alleyways; and Urban Ultimatum with its rooftops.

Metal Gear Online will be released alongside Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on 12th June around the world.

It lets 16 of you fire bullets at each other online, in the hope that one will penetrate and cause massive internal bleeding and lead to death. And then respawn.

There are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture Base and Sneaking missions. It's plenty of fun, too, as you can find out in our first impressions of Metal Gear Online.

An event where journos could play the game, according to Simo's post. I seriously wonder why the hell I wasn't invited >=(
Simo, couldn't you put the spoiler in a spoiler? I'm tempted seeing what you talk about:P

Well, I don't know how much of a spoiler that is.

Spoiler:
It could be interpeted in a couple of ways. Rest isn't always "death".
But since the second trailer we've seen Snake putting a gun in his mouth. How suprising is it that he actually shoots out his own brain?

Christ, Sunny's one of the cutest game characters ever. It tears me up when someone treats her bad

Actually, I haven't encountered so many feelings while playig a game. The BB Corps made me very nervous indeed when I first saw them. "Fuck, I have to beat those!?".
Sunny brings both tears to my eyes and a smile on my face.

Well, I guess I'm somewhere in the middle of Act 4. Brilliant location.

Regarding a boss battle:
Spoiler:
Holy shit I enjoyed the Laughing Octopus fight. Having to closely examine the enviroment to find your opponent was a brilliant stroke. I didn't see her mimic the anatomy dummy, though, which saddened me. Even though I guessed that the Mk. II was a trick, it was still a nice one.

I can't wait to finish this game and see what it has in store.

Kilroy --
Unfortunately, the bandanna and stealth camo aren't allowed if you want Big Boss emblem. Hell, I think they're *disabled* on Big Boss mode =x
Yeah, that figured
Oh well, I think I'll settle for earning Stealth by sneaking just for now. Perhaps doing the knife kill thing like Shenlon plans to.

I can sorta see where Skills are going.
Looking only at the gameplay, MGS4 is somewhat shallow. I had great use of the OctoCam, but the Solid Eye was almost solely used for the nifty overhead map. I only found use for NV at two occations. One where the game almost asks you to use it, and the other one in the beginning and middle of Act 4.

However, I found MGS4 to be a very rewarding experience because of the combination of the story and the gameplay. As a whole, I was entertained from start to finish.
