Some people just like 'em puff and cheesy, I guess. :/
I myself don't. Brainless rock isn't exactly my thing anyway, but this just takes the matter into a whole other universe populated by own-arm-wringing flesh guitars who whinge and whine, scream and screech like there's no yesterday. And then they start to torture me cross the universe by creating a frigging love power ballad out of a violent vocal theme. And as the cherry on top, mr.goo takes the lovely melodic theme Towards Zanarkand - from behind and rapes it in the hind.
Just no more vocals, if there ever will be a The Black Mages III.
Some of these tracks are fine. The almost one-trick-pony The Rocking Grounds and the almost unruinable Maybe I'm a Lion are good. Listenable. They rock. They raise this album's points to 2/5.
