New Feature: ChocoPager! (Beta)

ChocoPager instant messaging system for GFF members. Users can exchange quick messages with each other. Unlike the regular private messaging system, the message appears directly on screen and can be replied to or X'ed away immediately.

ChocoPager uses AJAX techology so that data can be received on the fly and no page reloading needs to be done when messages are received. ChocoPager does not replace the private message system
which is used more like email when constructing longer messages or for more formal ones that need some kind of send/reply logging feature.

Sending messages with ChocoPager:
You can send messages by going to a user's profile and choosing send Pager message or by opening the ChocoPager interface via the quicklinks navigation bar.




Receiving messages with ChocoPager:
Messages are received automatically whenever a page is loaded or every 90 seconds if you are on the same page.

The ChocoPager Panel:
When you access the ChocoPager panel via the Quick Links menu, you can access the other pages within the panel by clicking the link on top (see screenshot below).



You can set buddy lists/ignore lists that are unique to ChocoPager and you can see your old messages.

ChocoPager Options:
You can access the ChocoPanel options page by going into User CP > Modify User Options.


If you don't like ChocoPager, you can disable it or only allow members from your pager buddylist to send you messages. You can also enable sounds to play whenever a message is received. You might need the quicktime plugin for that.

ChocoPager is still being tested and worked out. It might be disabled permanently if it doesn't seem like a good idea. Administrators can ban individual users from using the system completely if there is abuse. As this uses AJAX, there might be some bugs depending on the browser so post them if you run into any.

For some reason I can't reproduce this problem. Is anyone else getting this?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The bug where users had trouble replying to messages while browsing a thread only applied to admins/mods. It should be fixed now!

As with images, I believe it doesn't accept vBcode just smilies so you don't need to worry about malicious content.

The pager is only supposed to be for quick, online contact, kinda like IM or SMS so that's why it's for online users only.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
