History of video games or detailed listing
I'm currently searching for a detailed history of video games (I've already tried Wikipedia) that logically lists platforms and/or games by year, starting from the very beginning. I'm specifically interested in video games of the 1970s-1980s or earlier.
In fact, if anyone could recommend me video games with music worth listening to from 1982 or earlier, that would be excellent. Unfortunately, none of the video games I know span this time period. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Just to clarify my request, I'm trying to find a detailed listing of "primitive" video games, but I'm only interested in ones with some form of music. If that's not possible, any recommendations are fine. EDIT 2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_2600 is all I can find so far. Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't think that many games from that era had music in them as the technological capabilities weren't present.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
AFAIK, the video game music came to rise since Sugiyama put magic in the Dragon Quest cartidge and performed live orchestra of Dragon Quest Family concert in 1986. Before that time, I dont think VGM exist, there is music in video games, but mostly are taken from folk songs.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
